Wow... what a peculiar problem we have now.. what do you do when you win the series and have another big one ( If we lose to Zimbabwe, everthing goes down the drain. Period) coming up? Yes, resting some players will be helpful in the sense of giving the bench a bit practice before the next series. Since Rasel just came back, I would still think he needs to continue and get back his rythm. If there are couple of players who needs resting,,, I would say Zunaed / Rubel are the right candidates. Zunaed wont get any better... he is what he is. Rubel can sit and see the game while Robin/Nazmul can play a game and collect match fee. Saqib can be rested but I dont think that will happen because he still needs to hone his captaincy skills with the next match. If he decides to rest,,, Mushfique is the "automatic" choice for captain. Mehrab is the right choice because of his ability to bowl as well which Imrul wont be able to perform. All in all,, we have a unique situation here but I am loving it and will still bet my money on "Team Bangladesh"

BTW, Warner Park has seen a good number of high scoring matches since it has been introduced as an ODI ground in WC'07.

This may turn out to be another tough test for our spinners and batters.

WICB sticking with current squad
There have been rumours in Dominica and St Kitts and throughout the wider Caribbean that the West Indies Cricket Board will pick a first choice squad for the Third Digicel One Day International and the Digicel Twenty20 at Warner Park.
However, well placed sources have confirmed to DigicelCricket.com that the WICB will retain the Floyd Reifer led squad for the Third Digicel ODI and that the captaincy will be handed over to Darren Sammy for the Digicel Twenty20 on August 2nd. There are also expected to be a few changes to the squad for the one off Digicel Twenty20.

Obviously....like shaaper kholosh the outer layer will flake off gradually; hence, it's prudent to groom the batch that will replace the other.

ZC is planning to organize Zim-WI-Ind tri-series after Bangladesh tour Zimbabwe. I am wondering if WICB will risk humiliation in hands of Zimbabweans by sticking with this squad.

my squad (even though I will be at the ground live for the first time, iA):
1 tamim
2 JS
3 ash (i still think he's more suited to 2 down, but he's done OK so far)
4 raqib
5 mehrab
6 mushy
7 riyad
8 naeem
9 razzak
10 rasel
11 nazmul (did very well against SL and ZIM after what i thought was end of his career)
sakib - rested, groin
rubel - rested, out of form/not ready quite yet
ideally, i would have liked to test out enam JR, but the management cleary sent him home.

We're a confident bunch aren't we? Hoping the players will keep a lower profile.
As for the team, like others have mentioned already, I'd also like to see Mehrab in there instead of Rakibul. They're essentially the same - both middle-order batsmen who take their time to get settled in, but can hold an innings together. Mehrab can bowl a couple of overs if needed also.

Don't rest players FFS. I want the whitewash. And Rubel goes for too many runs, 6 overs is enough.

No chance of WI playing their main team. The WICB and WIPA are still at loggerheads,
and there is no resolution until sometime in August, maybe before the squad for the Champion Trophy is chosen.
Credit has to be given to this current team for putting up a good show and playing some good cricket. It was not a cake walk for BD, at least one WI batsman scored a century, so far no BD batsman has done that.

Looking for three changes:
1. Mehrab in for Raqibul
2. Robin in for Rasel
3. Nazmul in for Rubel
Give Mehrab a chance...
Rasel bowling was below par and Rubel needs a break.

Agree with your choices. Hope the selectors think about it. Shakib should be rested, but he is Mr. Dependable, might want to play to ensure a whitewash.
Nazmul, Mehrab and Robin should definitely be given a chance.

I don't like the idea of Sakib taking a rest, if he thinks he need rest then its OK, but not for the sake of giving others 'experience'. BD no 'Big Boy', Sakib no 'Big man' [yet], and no need for acting such [giving experience to others].
From BD Point of view it could be a dead rubber, but from WI point of view its a 'Do or Die' game to make a point, which suggests another great competitive game. BD as well as Sakib's [captain] job is not done yet, and its a first ever competitive series asking to be finished clean & white, could be tough to keep everyone motivated and focused while batting, bowling, fielding and most importantly WINNING determination, and such lot more, to learn IN the field, IN the game. Sakib can take rest in Zimbo game or even in 20/20 against WI, I don't mind, but he should finish THE JOB [series], unless he thinks he need rest.
As for Zunaid, Rakib, Mahmudullah ... has not done good enough in this ODI series and since they are the first choice of our best eleven, I don't see why they should be dropped for the sake of 'One shot' experience to the second choice [such as Mehrab]? If Zunaid, Rakib, Mhmudullah can pull off their game in a competitive, tensed match ... isn't THAT experience we should look for? Since they already played few matches against this team, possibility wise they have more chance to do well and they should be given that chance IMO. What experience one [second choice] might get given just One shot' to look?
So my take on this situation is ... Three 'experience' should be better than just one.
