I know we have an A team and an cademy, but there's no harm in having an emerging players squad to face other emerging players across the world and/or maybe tour associate countries...

i'm not sure how often the "emerging players" team plays. they participate in a regular tournament every year with other teams like india, australia, new zealand, but other than that i don't think they play again during the year. but this is something i talked about earlier, BD should try and participate in this tournament if they can, it's another way of giving some players some pretty good experience. btw it's not just young players either, it can be fringe national players, the indian team sent some players who have played a couple of matches for the indian national team, and a few fringe players so it doesn't just have to be for the really young guys (u19).

emerging players tournament just concluded in brisbane, we missed it because of the ashes and BD v WI series.
South Africa as usual won everything apart from the final.
here is the result page: http://www.cricinfo.com/ept09/engine/series/409195.html

Cricket Australia arranges Emerging Players Tournament every year. Australia is the only country that fields its academy team in the tourny, other countries send their almost A-teams. Unfortunately, I think our second stringers will be totally outclassed here, and I don't think BCB will be interested to send our national team (though they would have been benefitted from the tourny) even if CA invites us.

They always have their lame excuses and answers as to why someone is selected and some other is not. One of our current selector right before joining the selection committee, expressed himself stating that it was a thanksless job. Well, yes it is, if you do thankless work.

Shahzada is only 23 years old by papers. So he has enough time. Though it's really annoying to see the way selectors are treating him.

We said enough about our selectors... The brainless body, hence no vision, no strategy. I heard that there was a junior team selectors. Really? Never hear them in the press conferences,, its always that Gadha Mama who shows up every press conference and tours the team with his ridiculous answers of swapping players every series..

A diminutive medium pacer - Shahzada is prolly just another Alamgir Kabir. His stats in last two seasons are nothing spectacular, don't see why selectors should be blamed for not noticing him.
Weird, still no news on the first match of the tour!

i really don't see a reason to blame the selectors for this...we have had many pacers come and go who showed as much promise as shahzada...maybe we shud stick to a few pacers for a while and see how they do before quickly dropping hthem.

Can't get to 300, can't score centuries. Same 'ol, same 'ol.
Then again, first game in the tour.

Bro did you read what I wrote!!!! I don't think so...
Shahzada is a promising talent who needs to play in the academy and A level for getting enough experience. Now look at his stats and please name those pacers who had similar stats as Shahzada....
Bowling averages
Mat Balls Runs Wkts BBI BBM Ave Econ SR 4w 5w 10
First-class 47 7525 3388 156 7/95 21.71 2.70 48.2 8 5 1
List A 40 1762 1311 47 5/18 5/18 27.89 4.46 37.4 0 1 0
In first class 156 wickets at 3.2 wickets per match with a economy rate of 2.7. Look at his average and strike rate.
Now please tell me those name of the pacers who had similar stats.....I see nobody outside the national team anywhere near him. May be I am blind...Please show me...

to be honest any bowler who bowls straight could take a lots of wicket. Forhad reza, mushfiq babu are two example.
In case of Shahzada i thnk he has no potentiality in the eyes of selector even not in eyes of other players, ex players and journalists. If he has talent or potentiality then someone would noticed him

Once he was called for the A team and played against Zim A in 2006. He has done extremely well in that series by claiming around 10 wickets in two 3 day matches.
Anyone, who gets a lot of wickets with low economy rates, must get a call. Remember our selectors ignored Rafiq for a long time thinking him having no potential? And see where he ended his career.
I don't know why the selectors are ignoring him. A possible reason may be indiscipline..

Good come back by BD bowlers but 8th wicket partnership might take the game away from us.

If he has potential? How do you know if someone has potential? Of course not the way a player looks? A player's justifiable potential is his statistics- the way he has performed in the past. If your measure of potential is something else, other than a player's statistics, then perhaps I am looking at wrong game.
