Great Nadim!
Did you bowl? You should have some pics with them.

bah Nadim... great news. Pics thakle share koro....
On the topic: I know its way too early to open that Jahurul Islam Aumi fan thread and get all excited abt a century agains surrey, but I guess we have to be a bit positive at some point. Imrul kayes is not a lost cause, but Aumi certainly deserves a chance.
Bangladeshi players are not scared of getting dropped from the national team anymore, cuz they know there are only few consistent performers... so getting back in the squad isnt a heart breaking one year process. So for whats Jahurul is worth, he should be put to test...

Today, arrived at the Tea interval. Saw Riyad misfielding one (or rather not trying to put much effort to dive and stop a boundary as it was chilly) and few of the spectators saying things like ''Bangladesh theika rickshawdriver kotogula niya choila asche...''. Hated that, those are too much but dint encounter those morons coz would've got overcrowded, lol!
Well, I din't need to anyway as the very next over (or the over after) Riyad bowled a delivery which came straight back at him along the ground and he cleverly flicked it onto the non-striker's (who was on 98) stump who was just short of the crease (well, the umpire gave him out anyway..and there was no replays to see). Riyad got his izzot (lol!) back as the crowd, this time, appreciated his work and cheered and that batsman (I think his name was Evans) got some good applause as well from us for his good work.
At the end, all ended well (with the most fascinating of draws ) and we departed. Wasn't with Nadim this time but with another friend of mine. Nadim actually had gone there alone in the morning, had some fun (no idea what type of fun ) with Zunaed and left well before I arrived there as he got bored....Anyway, next destination..Essex/Chelmsford.
Edit: And ye, forgot to mention that when they were coming out..Ashraful took one of the batsman's bat and was raising the bat all along as if he scored a century or something..he had a cheeky smile on his face, lol!

I have a weakness for batsmen and batswomen with high back-lifts.

Nothing inconsistant with that. We are all playing fantasy cricket or at best pocket-billiard.

the declaration was a bad idea....we should have batted as long as possible. unless sakib can guarantee that he will last long enough to get good time in the next 2 fixtures, it was a bad move.
other than that, it was OK. decent batting by the top order, bowlers were probably just going through the motions in the cold weather. would have been nice to all out them or at least take 7-8 wickets 2nd time around, but its a practice match and we don't know how hard the bowlers were going.

If Usman Afzal can score 159 against our bowling than what Straus, Petersen will do? I am afraid even thinking of it.
Anyway, the main target of these practice matches is to adjust with the condition. Shakib & Co. has done it partially? Hope so.

Ashraful has a tendency to check opponent batsman's bat, whenever he gets a break, runs down to batsmen and pick up their bats and plays some shadow shots. but he does the opposite when he comes to bat as if he wants to get rid of his own bat and quickly walks off the field....strange !
