Nash left as a free agent. He was not traded. He was not gonna go back to Dallas. It was Phoenix that got him in the end.
If only Raptors had enough money to get him.

Cuban would have loved to keep nash but the offer he got from pheonix was unblievable, alomost a difference of $10 million. So if cuban signed nash then he couldn't signed eric dampier because of the salary cap issues. It was a difficult decision but I thought he made the right choice. Its tough to let players like nash go but in the long run it will be good for the mavs.

i don't agree with Centre Half-Forward here. cuban had the last say about nash's transfer to phoenix. nash said he was gonna give priority to dallas if cuban matched or atleast payed close to what phoenix suns were paying him and gave him a long term (atleast 5 years) contract. after phoenix made their offer, nash called cuban and told him what they were gonna pay him, cuban said he would love to keep nash, but he couldn't match phoenix's offer and a long term contract considering nash's age. only after that nash decided to go to phoenix.
I do agree with faceoff, that even though nash is an MVP candidate this season, in the long term the decision to let nash go will payoff positively for dallas.

Well the regular season MVP is named and Steve Nash of the Suns wins by 34 points the 4th closest margin ever. He is the first Canadian (there are only 2 playing) to win this award.

Finnaly a Canadian to win a NBA MVP. But clearly he deserved it. Some might say it was fluke but with him Phoenix Sun would not be where they are today!

Its 2-1 now.
How many of you think Mavs will win over Pheonix. I haven`t seen many passes or anyone like a game winner in Mavericks. Nowitzki is out of form......
