lol none of these teams have their countrymen playing.. looks like all of them are pakistanis with some indians in the mix who i think were discarded by their countries.. thats sad.. now i wonder why nepal is going after b grade indian players.. it would have been great to see some bangla/ne players in these teams .

You need sloggers/hacks for these formats, or some muscles (even if you mistime, you can muscle it at least). Afghan players fit the bill for both requirements perfectly, and in this day and age Pakistanis churn out the most of the former which fill the ranks of Oman, HK and UAE.

^Thats why Ziaur Rahman,Shamsur Rahman, Kapali, Anamul are better options for t20 than Kayes, Mithun, Nassir and Mullah. I'd take Nassir for his few overs with the ball more than handy option. So in this format u dont need overly technical batsmen, doesnt need properly cricket stuff most hacks will do ok in t20, as long pitch is batting friendly and they have hitting ability.

It is just one game. Still open wide open. Hong Kong and Afghans looks good even with a loss.

All 4 teams are so close. T20 in flat pitches is the future of cricket.

Sometimes I would like to see a tensed low-scoring T20 match. It doesn't have to be flat pitches all the time.

Where's the sympathy for the bowlers?

Low scoring thrillers are rare in cricket. Low scoring thrillers are very difficult to reproduce since bowler advantage changes with condition. If you make pitch with grass, most likely the chasing team is going to win it as their bowlers will extract more from pitch. If you make crumbling spin friendly ones, team batting first will get more batting out of the pitch. The flat one stays the same with time offering close matches more often than its bowling friendly counterparts. The pitch conditions are also the reason why t 20 produces more thrillers.

Sounds reasonable...look out for more Mankading in this case...sorry but this is the way cricket is going.

What's the relationship between Mankading and pitches?

Bro, I made a blunt comment. It doesn't have to be pitches alone for Mankading to be "pulled".

I was writing as a reaction to two quickfire Mankads over the past few weeks.

I fear it might be trending and contagious.

But...after all, both satisfies the laws of the game and I'm happy with that.

You quoted my comment on pitches and that made me think so. Your view on Mankads is correct. We'd see a few more, well, may be in the coming WC T20s.

May be not. Among the test playing nations, there is a an unwritten agreement not to do that without a WARNING.
