BCB should handle it smartly and professionally than going to the press. If SA did anything wrong, they should complain it to the ICC, not to daily star.

There is no inferiority complex in being thankful. Things could have been much worse. Eat your bullets, count your blessings, you are here for two more days, move on. If the security concerns were so great BCB should have communicated with SA before hand. Not just hoping they would give a royal treatment. Not everyone can read others mind nor do they think alike.
As a guest I for one would complain for petty matters. Did NZ complain by the way? They stayed in Dhaka, the only practice match was in fatullah, where the facilities were below any club would offer, no match played, they travel back all the way and get in to a traffic jam. They detour back to their hotel instead of the Mirpur ground. I didn't hear any complaint from Vettori, nor any apology from any BCB members or even a fan. Certainly their gripe is much bigger than ours.
|
Mizan bhai,
Weather is not in BCB's hand, Is it?. They couldnt play the practice match because of the bad weather. It wasn't BCB's fault.
Traffic jam is not in BCB's hand as well. Aar NZ to desher shob cheye valo hotel e chilo. Hotel Sheraton e.
They've got everything they needed from BCB.
SAn board didn't even send any officals to receive the team from the Airport. On the other hand, our BCB give garlands to each and every players and the stuffs at the airport.
WE are getting only one practice match in this tour. We were supposed to get 2 but later they cancelled one of them.

lol, yes, I know weather is not in mankinds hand however, the rain stopped (Noc, thebest correct me please if I am wrong; you were there) in the early part of the morning. Poor drainage system and no sockers was the prime reason.
As Boundale said, ICC and daily star is not the same entity. Riling up people for no reason.

Sorry, but very detestable reply from TE bhai. Didn’t expect it from you.
Even Prothom Alo reported the same thing. How do you explain ‘the sitting of Mohammad Ashraful and A Razzaq for 45 minutes only to learn that there will be no press conference from them?’
Hopefully it fires up Mashrafe Mortaza and he teaches the Saffers a leasson.

Lets face the facts,
1) Waiting for 5 hours to check in tells you about the poor management of the hotel. Why they had to be there in the first place?
2) Why SA is staying in a different hotel? Usually the visiting teams stay at Hotel Santan where SA team is staying. Why this treatment to us?
3)There was no bus waiting for them at the airport? Why?
4) Mohammad Ashraful and A Razzaq had to wait for 45 minutes only to learn that there will be no press conference for them. Why?
Tigers_Eye can you please answer these?

very shocking news! but guys don't take your anger out on the whole country, one should target and complain to cricket south Africa and related boards..i mean what else do you expect from a cricket board that enforces an unjust quota system in this day and age?

This Deshi mentality of thinking of ourselves as inferiors must stop.
Why do we need security? South Africa is the capital of cricket match-fixing. Wouldn't it bother you if Bangladeshi cricket gets embroiled in this nonsense. Sure we are crap but atleast we are clean from all that dirt. This team is young and they may easily be tempted to do something stupid. There were rumours about Pilot getting involved in match-fixing during the 2003 WC in South Africa, hopefully they were only rumours.
There have been past incidents where cricketers have been mugged in SA. And to add to all of that now it seems ICL is hunting our players in South Africa! But obviously it seems as if you don't care about all that.
|
Excellent reply! This is definately serious matter for BD cricket, little bit of mismanagement can be crucial for our valuable players.. have to watch out every step..We’ve just straightened our back; you don’t want that to fall back again.

Frankly speaking , After Bangladesh , South Africa has been my fav cric team over the decade. But I love SA team as much as I hate their racism. I think its completely beacuse they are racist. Being racist they lost many good players. They also may have the mentality to think bangladesh as a easy going. This is not good for cricket.
Bangladeshi players... Plz try to be passionate. Give ans by winning.

Although Bangladesh have been treated badly in South Africa, I just dont see it as a big thing to gripe about. I'm sure there was something wrong/misunderstanding that had happened for which they weren't able to provide "quality" treatment. Its not proper to just think that they are in fact doing it intentionally for to demoralize the bangladeshi players. If they are, then I'd be happy to say that I'm quite happ to know that the South Africans are relying on other ways to beat Bangladesh then on the field.
I just think we complain over every little thing that happens. Noone is superhuman and can do a great job, misunderstandings will happen. I just dont think we should always be on our toes to find the wrongs of our opponents (like we mostly do) but rather focus on playing better cricket through the obstacles which can and will come our way. I just don't find this as big a matter as most people are making it to be. Sure, we're patriotic and would like to see everything go in the Bangladeshi's favor, but the world is not like that and we should get over it. Yes we can... play after waiting 5 hours in the lobby. Yes we can... play after drinking/gambling in the casino the last night. Yes we can... bring change to Bangladeshi Cricket.

Good results can only be obtained by providing better training facilities & better surroundings. How can we expect better results knowing that we haven’t nurtured them well?

How are they planning to host the soccer world cup with this kind of treatment of foreign teams? I know that Soccer has it's own federation and blah blah blah. We are their guests and if this was unintentional, then it must be mismanagement.
Here's what WE (the fans) can do, take this to cricinfo. Write to cricinfo about how BD players are being mistreated. Put the links to the news articles in your emails. Keep the language clean.

You've said it all, this certainly shows how narrow minded CSA is. And to let them know about their mistakes, our bat and ball needs to speak up at any cost.

Yes, we could also recommend the New Age/Daily Star articles to 'the Surfer'. In fact, Sriram Veera who is currently doing the Ind/Aus commentary is one of the 2-3 people who update the Surfer. We could even use the 'commentary feedback' feature to make sure that it is read by the right person.

Please take a look at the post below [from Zia].
Not just couple of things that happened but more, and ONLY WITHIN couple of days! Most importantly their approach AFTER those mishaps is boiling the air I guess. You [SA official] cant just keep people wait in lobby for 5 hours not being showed up and do your best what you can! of course walk around boys and the team officials with BIG smile till they check in. Couple of official waiting at the airport with a bus ready in time needs not to be a superhuman does it!? SA team went for press conference asking Ash & Razzak to wait, they ( SA ) talked to press for 40 minutes ( as per news paper says ) but SA media official had to WAIT till then to know there is no press conference for Ash & Razzak?!?! These are NOT the sign of mis-management, nor need a superhuman, rather Non-management or contemptuous ignorant I say. BD cricket team has every right complain to CSA, and they rightly did so as I hear.

Meh. I'm not surprised - one of the most racist nations on earth showing respect to our inferior cricket little Bangali kids? Highly unlikely. Crying about really makes me feel like the Indian cricket team. And that's FAIL. We don't want to be hated by the rest of the world. We wish to be admired.
Therefore, we have to get back at the CSA by humiliating them and their people in their own country. Simple.
Let's just hope it turns out that way.

Guys it is nothing with our performance. SA is bad host. Remember Saqi was robbed and physically hurt; I think Cairns also had the same experience in JO'berg. Regarding Hotel blame lies more on BCB; in the day of Internet they just need to click to know about the facility and ask SACB to change the hotel. If that was not entertain can ask High Commission in SA to made alternative arrangemnet and complain to ICC. This is just blaming SACB to hide their incompetence.
Regarding interview fiasco, T_E says it all; if you perform journalist would wait for you
