bangladesh, the points table says it all.
we beat ireland. plus, we have won 3 matches. we did really bad sometimes, but sometimes we did really well too.
our overall performance wasnt good, but this team has that edge, which gives even a bad performance at home an edge over the best performance the irish can give at an away conditions. of course if we played ireland at their home, things might have been different.
but as far as this tourney goes, though we played better than ireland, we didnt at all play to our full strength.
ek dik theke bhalo hoise. we need to rebuild.

Why should we comparing Ireland to Bangladesh? Many of the so called Irish players would jump at the chance of playing for one of the major test nations. 'All' the Bangladeshi players would jump at playing only for Bangladesh. This is not jingoism speaking but more an accurate reflection of how things are.
Bangladesh had been disappointing in this tournament. This team will get better. Ireland would only get worse as there isn't that much interest for cricket in Irish schools.

I differ on this point. Of the 15 players in Ireland team, first of all were Irish, like in Bd all were bengalis. Secondly 5 players were born in Ireland, 5 players were Born is N Ireland and rest 5 were born outside (3 in Aus, 1 in NZ and SA). Out of these 5 born outside the nations, 4 had already taken up Irish citizenship and were part of great boon in Ireland. Only 1 player is an Expatriate. This is fully an Irish team of Irish and they did much much better than Bangladesh. They chased 2 times a score of 300. I cannot even imagine out Bd doing the same. They really challenged India, Us and West Indies and where as got a beating from SA. There also they had caused a scare with SA at 105 for 5 before they recovered.
What about us, we played all matches in our own back yard in front of our huge crowds. What happened, Sehwag challenged us, said a revenge match and smashed us, India smashed 371. What a shame. WI and SA have made a mockery of us. 58 and 78. Is that a score of Test Teams. Between 4 Associates Ire, Neth, Can and Kenya, just happened once for Kenya. 4 team once and us 2 times. We won against England, only because england themselves have been scrapy against all teams including Neth and Ireland. Yes we won convincingly against Netherlands. Wow what a performance.
We have to improve to be called a test team. Perform when it matters the most.
We have 3 wins and that is good and lost 3 games. I will would have been gr8 had not we shamefully went down 58 and 78. Shame on TIgers

I am not sure about our form in that series. Now when I look back, I feel NZ was at their worst in that series.

I dare say Ireland. In all 3 departments they have competed well inspite of alien conditions in all matches. At this moment, if we have a 5 match series with Ireland, esp. if we get back their imports, I think they will beat Bangladesh. They actually have decent domestic structure. I think ICC should get them to play more games.
Bangladesh on the other hand were absolutely battered like a minnow in the matches they lost. Yes, they did scrape through some wins but you expected more from them.

With Morgan backing Is there any doubt who are more professionals? Then again, they are not spoiled by free plots and money with "Ami dilam" as if the country is her poittrik shompotti.

Just when I started to think that our batting is somehow starting to gel, all these happen.

We maybe ranked higher and better than Ireland in pen paper and ICC ranking. But Ireland played with a lot more heart, determination and passion than our "Shonar Chelera". They showed a lot more character out there in the field compared to us. We had this huge advantage of playing all our matches on our home ground and missed out on a great opportunity to leave our mark in world cricket, we completely missed out here!!!

comparing expectations, and expected strength, and performance, Ireland did really well, and better than BD in that aspect. but we beat them, and thats what matter.
if you ask whose performance was better, ireland. but if u ask which was the better team, bangladesh, simply because of the conditions.
ireland shud be given test status, caus they are far more ready for that, than our team was 11 years ago. and its for our sake too. this way, we get to play tests and odis more often in ireland, and that wud benefit us more.

If we play an ODI series with Ireland on a neutral venue at this point, it's very likely that Ireland will win it.

The main thing Ireland have on Bangladesh is maturity and experience. A lot of their players play county cricket and they know how to handle different situations and don't panic easily, which is why they're batting is a lot better than ours. But I think the BD players have more talent and if they were older so they can develop that talent they would definitely be able to bat a lot better than Ireland.

BD underpreformed and Ireland Preformed to their abilities, but BD still did better

I remember how many of our fans were similarly talking up Kenya after 2003 WC, its one thing to be humble, its another thing to be extremely self deprecating

bd killed zimbabwe the last 3 times we played in their ground. so we are past zimbabwe.
ireland shud be promoted, and we shud play more often against them, then we can do better.
