Abdul Razzaq is one of the best all rounders to grace the game IMO.

Razzaq was ridiculous at the beginning of his career. I used to love watching him and Azhar Mahmood play.

Well, IMO your "IMO" is wrong. I can easily name 5 ALRs that are way better than him. Then again, besides Kallis, (and our Old Shak) no one is a TRUE ALR anymore.
ALR's I'd take in my team before Razq (excluding the already given):
Shaun Pollock
Lance Klusener
Andrew Flintoff
Shane Watson
Scott Styris (May be not better than Raz, but right up there)
Craig McMillan (Way better Batsman)
Jacob Oram ( < Razq)
Daniel Vettori (Better batter in Test)
Razzaq would be in my top 10, if he was more fit. All those mentioned players are very fit and athletic (baring Pollock may be). Razzaq's current age is "31," but he plays like the oldest of them all.

Razzaq was damn good when he started, then he started to suck badly. He bowled at good pace and batted well, a genuine allrounder. Then turned into more of an occasional matchwinner who can bowl so-so.
As for Shak, I'm not predicting anything. Lets see. Hopefully he can sustain his form.

I still remember Abdul Razzak getting tendulkar out bowled twice in the same series with one inswinger and the other being an outswinger in a VB Tournament in Australia involving India Pakistan and Australia. In that same tournament he hit Mcgrath for five consecutive boundaries. 5 consecutive boundaries doesn't sound like much now with all the T-20 cricket but at that time it was a stunning effort against the world's best bowler.

These were probably the reason for finding problem with his bowling action ...

If he continues like this, he should be doing it easily. But he needs to focus on his batting a little more, for that..
All the best wishes for him. Thanks NW for bringing it up....Good luck

He only needs an average of around 21-22... But knowing Shakib's clear talent, he'll want a 50+ batting average (which he is more than capable of) and he'll only need 1-2 wickets every match... He is the chosen one

I'd really like to see Shakib get a five wicket haul in an ODI. For someone of his talent, it's a real anomaly that in a 110+ matches he hasn't taken a single 5 wicket haul!

That's partly because the time batsmen are trying to play him out and attack are other mediocre bowlers. You can only do that for so long in Test. That's why he's picked up 7 5W in tests

haan, but the same applied to Abdur Razzak until fairly recently. Batsmen, especially from the weaker cricket teams, tried to play him out and score off the other bowlers. However, at least against Zimbabwe, he was still able to get a bucket load of wickets incl. 5 wicket haul.
I agree with your point about him having an impressive Test record. I think that's also due to the fact that he's allowed to be more attacking in Test matches and can flight the ball more.
Here's to a century and a 5-wicket haul by Shakib in the next test!

Thanks Adnan for finding that.
As other members have pointed out that FTP is not a holy book that can't be changed. Its a road map...if we can improve our performance, there is a high possibility that the number of matches will be increased for us.
And, Don't forget guys, next ICC president will be elected from Bangladesh....so, we can change the FTP in our favor too. InshaaAllah Shakib will make it...even before 80 matches

Sahid afridi has become the 1st cricketer to score 7000 runs and take 350 wickets, he took 355 matches to achieve this milestone.
that means shakib has 225 matches to score 3312 runs and take 189 wickets to get to this allrounder double before afridi..
well he wont get the chance to play all those matches anyway

Naah, don't think Shakib will reach those figures for three reasons:
1. We play 10-15 ODI's at most in a calendar year
2. Don't see Shakib playing that long
3. Question mark over ODI's future

agree, he wont get to play all those matches and even if he do i dont think he'll have the longevity as afridi
anyway 5000 runs and 250 wickets double is still reachable and he'll do it less then 200 matches..thats some achievement since the quickest is razzaq and the dude took 250+ matches
