On the series, I'm afraid it could become a boring one. I would recommend BCCI to provide some better pitches in Chennai and Vizag or rotate some key players as they did against NZ. It's the right time to test spinners such as Kuldeep Yadav & Jayant Yadav. We should also test Shardul Thakur. Rahul should be tried in ODIs. India should look forward to Champions Trophy in 2017 and prepare pitches for ODIs, even if it means they lose the series.

Ganguly says it's he was England's skipper he wouldn't pick Anderson in the final eleven yet.
Something about this series that I'm not too particularly interested in...
There's hardly an Indian Fan on this forum to discuss the matches with...like the way we're doing with brockley in the South aFrica-Aussie series.
Civil discussions.

The preview for the 1st test starting in less than 5 hours:
http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-...y/1065204.html
Quote:
The Big Three might be on its way out as a concept, but whenever these three teams play each other, things get ugly. India and England are two of the worst-behaved teams in the world, but only in each other's, or Australia's, presence. India have just played out a series against New Zealand in good spirit and England won hearts in Bangladesh, but expect shenanigans and skirmishes in this series. Forget who has sinned or not, it is usually a matter of who casts the first stone, after which all hell breaks loose.

Sidhart Monga went nuclear with this paragraph...didn't expect this from him...the article was going so good up to this point. Storyline much?

England 20/0 after 5 overs.
Pitch with a lot of green on top. Fine cover of grass.

The righthand lefthand combination is causing the Indian bowlers to stray in line.
Hameed with a high back lift and solid defense..this kid has the whole package.

Murali vijay had dropped Hameed at first slips, in his Hands and out. How costly will that be.
Kohli and Yadav is furious

England lose their first wicket of the series. COOK is lbw by Jadeja.
He should have reviewed that.

That was the most India-est type of use of reviews.

Poor Hameed. He let his captain down.

Hameed really has a good eye...good judgement of leaving alone which ball he thinks would go away from the stumps.

Dharmasena and drs once again.
Hameed is the victim.
Gone for 31 in his first innings in international cricket.

This test series between India and England is going to be very long. I wish to see Ashwin in the game. He is my favorite bowler.

Who saw Root's wicket? It was a caught and bowl but Yadav just grasped it and threw it up and lost it.
He was given out (which is understandable)
But why was this given not out then? Gibbs caught it cleanly and threw it up hastily to celebrate. Anyone enlighten me on the difference (after watching Root's wicket).

^ Because he didn't have control over it as he was throwing it up, that's why it fell on the ground and not go up. Yadav took the catch, controlled it, lifted it up in the air with both hands, with control, didn't spill it like Gibbs. Then he tried to catch it again for some reason and failed, which made it seem like it was iffy but by then it was already dead ball. Catching process was over.

^ Happened to Mustafizur during the Asia Cup last year too, he wasn't 'in control'
