Well done Shams. Facing 123 balls against a formidable team like NZ and score 36 at an age of 16 is really great.

Not even in his 20s yet? Is it right?
I thought he is 22 or 23.
Within 2 to 3 years, he will be like Tendulkar?
I love to see that, but I cant think that way yet.
|
Ash is 19 yrs old now and he will be no Tendulker. If he manages to be a player with 40 some thing averages in tests and ODIs then it will be a great achivement in itself in context of BD. But Ash still needs to go a long way to do that. His ODI average is around 16 (!) and almost same average in test as well.....Talk abt Tendulker! Bless!

Yeah, wanted to see him on the pitch a little bit more though.
Another good job from him.

One thing I would like to see from Sams is a good big hundred at some point. He has good temperament but only big hundreds will show his concentration level immaculate over long period of time. This is his first match against seniors at any level. Considering that I would say welldone but way to go.

Poorfan i think he is still only 19. Well that is what the cricinfo profile says. I was being a bit optimistic comparing him with Tendulkar but hey.
If Shamsur Rahman plays a test now hopefully he will score 36 every innings and maybe even more.

194 , I think. In that case they avoided follow-on already.

Over and above, Sachin played his first test at the age of 16/17, Hanif Mohammed played his first test at the age of 16/17, so why not Shamsur Rahman?

That's an idea, but very tough to decide.
Could be good and could be bad, it can go either way.
Now how will take that risk and responsibility?

When it's going to be stump day 2? Bangladesh played 81 overs, and NZ played 15 overs that makes 96 overs today.

... not with the level of confidence and commitment he is showing at the moment!!
and about Shamsur Rahman?... well lets not just get carried away!!
all our players show hight potentials against top teams of the world in earlay ages.. and then jumps back in the rabbit-hole for ever when its really time and age for them to perform!!

The way this game is unfolding then i can quickly think of a probable 1st test eleven....in line of selectors thinkings....also considering Bashar may miss the 1st test....
Javed, Hannan, Nafis, Rajin, Ash, Rana, Pilot, Rafique, Mushfique, Tapash, Alamgir Kabir.
