why they are batting first in this fast pitch? captain wants to bat so much? and get out and go for a picnic with hannan? afterall they play in the same team in the CCL.

Also, another concession - your lower order showed, in the previous test, that they know what to do with a bat.

It was clear as daylight that the pitch will be bowlers heaven on first day... will be for batsmen frm second day....

Yet bashar choose to bat!

1. Scared of WI scoring a mountain of rans if sent to bat first!

2. Irrational Confidence frm 1st match!!

Wrong Desicion to be batting!!:duh:

Absolutely right, we need think tank from here. Not a wise decision to bat first, everybody knows 1st day is for the bowlers....

Bashar, Hannan let us down.

Rana, Ash followed their lead....

Right reyme. why they chose to bat is beyond me. false sense of security may be? and not only that, they chose five specialist batsmen here, knowing the pitch is true to the faster bowlers. These pair should concentrate hard on staying. ash got out once again by a lofted shot in the midwkt, this time . not good.

reyme, I think you are over-reacting. Batting first has always been our preferred option in tests. Otherwise we get really demoralized when the opposition scores big. Plus, with Lara under so much pressure, he is almost certain to have an explosive innings.

Batting first was not a wrong decision. Given the circumstances (BEFORE the match), that was the wisest choice.

Default If WI had won the toss....

Bashar stepped into a SUICIDAL TRAP willingly by choosing to bat!

fine. then play responsibly. don't get out pulling a full ball or lofted shot in the midwkt and a khocha outside..

I think it was a pretty good decision to bat first...all they need is one big partnership...and we will be in business!

WI bowling first makes sense, they have good (well sort of good) fast bowlers. We dont have anything like that in out armory. For us to bowl first, we would have needed at least Masri in the team. If we had bowled, and they scored 600 we would have been saying, "why the hell did Sumon choose to field on such a batting paradise"

Its a good decision to bat first. WKt should change in the 3rd day for the spinners.

Decision to bat first is not a bad idea. Batting 2nd innings on day 5 might be a disaster considering the fact that the pitch will have more bounce and crack on the last day.

44.1 Banks to Rajin Saleh, FOUR, short delivery on the middle and off, pulled away to the mid wicket fence, almost took out the short leg fielder!
