Danone Nations Cup is the greatest international football tournament for children from 10 to 12 years.
This event, recognized by the FIFA and sponsored by Zinedine Zidane gathers 2,5 million children each year throughout the world.
Fair-play, pleasure of the game, accessibility and openness are the values of the competition.
The winning team of the qualification tournament will go to France, to defend the colours of Kenya on June 29 & 30 and July 1, 2007.

So Chittagong team won the qualification round in BD and now they are playing in the main tournament in France.

The problem is not that we don't have talent, but its lack of proper training and physical development, its really hard not to find at least 22 talented players from 14 crore people. But just as like our age group team, these talents get rusty while others' talents prosper.
Hopefully, with the new Canary Wharf initiative,we'll overcome that barricade, after all,Abdus Samad was born here.

Akabir bhai,
After reading your heading I was afraid to read the thread. Nightmarish flashback of Dana and Gothia cup came back to haunt me (yeah, I remember when our shonar "dhaongor" chelera beat Brazil 6-0 in one of the finals and made those boys cry). However, decided to see what it is after seeing the number of post was high. Glad I did. The pictures just sooth my eyes. Thank you.
Mashallah those boys look really good. In the first picture the Italian boy (asuming the picture is from that match) looks like the BD dribblers brother (so much resemblance).

exactly my feeling and that's why i included those pictures... man i still remember bokhtier number 10 playing with those kids and scoring one goal after another... and the tv commentator was asking the kids coach what do you think about the purspect of bangladesh playing world cup???? Shala ershad jey koto khela dekhailo amader...
DO you know that his administration tried their best not to show the game on tv and stuff the BTV prodhan (i forgot his name) lost his job but he still showed it so that people who where very much like gone crazy knows what happen really... I salute that guy...

Bangladesh finish 23rd
Sports Reporter
Bangladesh finished 23rd out of 40 nations in the Danone Nations Cup under-12 football tournament which concluded yesterday in Lyon, France.
In yesterday's play-offs, Bangladesh lost to England 3-2 in the tiebreakers after a goalless draw but defeated Uruguay 4-3 in the shootout following a 1-1 draw.
Earlier, the kids from Bangladesh lost 1-0 to Vanuatu on Saturday.
South Africa were pitted against the hosts in the final last night.
