Why are they picking a number 7/8 based on his hitting ability when the squad is for the test series?

I am really not sure what they are doing. They need to understand that some players are suitable for some formats but not others.

Even if they were looking for someone with hitting ability, why not just keep Nurul who demonstrated that very well last test series?

Correct, looks like the problem is not headache in selection, it is selectors with constant headache causing headache for others

I think it's a good thing. Someone like Tamim knows that though his place is cemented, he has competition from the likes of Imrul, Liton and Sarker.

Tamim has no competition at the moment. But it's always good to have other players scoring runs. A good bench strength comes in handy in case of injuries and if someone needs to be rested.

There are still few series left before the world cup. It will be interesting to see whether the players who are performing now can prolong their form until the WC or not.

Find the finisher and we're good to go.
#2 Imrul, #7 Soumya, who was already leading the race.

For now. WC still a while away. Form can change.

Still want to see Ariful bat.

His fault as well.

Saifuddin, Liton, Imrul and Soumya grabbed their chances given to them, he didn't. Even a nervy 50 could have saved him, but he scored two ducks instead.

^ should not have been selected in the first place to begin with. They stated themselves that they are looking at sharkar for the WC. Should have stuck with him if that's the case. This will only demoralize Fazal

Yeah selection atm doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Also I would say Tamim does have competition, as said his spot is cemented but imrul scoring as consistently as this and then soumya scoring like he did at the start of his career definately puts pressure on Tamim, mainly because of his scoring rate. But you know, imrul has to keep this up and soumya needs to be consistent.

Well no doubt shanto has be demoralised, may as well do it to fazle as well.

Shanto should’ve been played in all 3 of the zim ODIs, fazle took his place for two of them and only bowled 3 overs after being touted as a complete package.

IMO no player should be selected in the main team if they make their debut after the age of 25.

Fazle inclusion could have been more political for all we know. I would rather give a youngster a chance than an oldie who is near their expiry date.
