Why is qualification deadline so early? What's the rush. We are really close to NZ. If we win some games aginst WI we might be able to take them over.

No chance. The 2013 edition is the last one ever. It does not matter what our ranking is in the future as only the eight highest-ranked ODI teams as of six months prior to the tournament are eligible.
Let us not worry about a dead trophy.
