Haha, oh no, don't facepalm yourself. I feel mad weird too just typing it! Honest fact is, I only ever speak Bengali with my parents. I don't know, language is just not as important to me as is geography and history.

For example, most of ya'll I bet have a larger Bengali vocab than me. But how many of you can name all 64 districts of Bd? I can.

You know Roey, this reminded me of a saying that our Bangla teacher once said in school, when asked to Rabindranath Tagore how can you diferentiate a "real" Bengali....he replied satirically saying, "bangali shei je tar bangaliyanar porichoi dite didha korbe na kintu take jodi ajker bangla tarikh ba botshor jiggesh kora hoi she tar uttor dite parbe na"

Oh yes it doesn`t matter which language you speak it`s just from your posts I assumed you might not know Bangla which is natural for many who were born and brought up abroad..

didha means hesitation and Tagore just implied that we Bengalis are very much claiming about our heritage, but when it comes to name the Bengali date or year...we fail to answer to answer it most of the time

হা, একটা পাবে বালা আর দুল এর সাথে মিলিয়ে, আরেকটা বিয়ের মালা।
