That's PR; ... Bhai...
He was also, more social than Rafiq ....

Moni was a hard hitter batsman.I think he once hit 5 sixes in an over against an English side which won him MOM award. Before Rafiq he was our one and only allrounder.
Congrats to Moni. I hope to see him in the elite panel pretty soon

I guess it worked for him. We all guessed that he was giving wrong decisions against Ban to prove his "naturalness."

I guess all those 420 decisions against us finally paid off. I feel bad for Zim, Moni and Rod Tucker? ouch they are gonna get screwed.

Agree here. Too many biased and bad decisions against BD, may end up like Asoka, who has now been dropped from the elite panel

He has been a good umpire, except when umpiring in BD matches. So, he needs to be kept away from us, but as a member of the elite panel he cannot officiate BD matches, right?

He is not a member of the elite panel yet. He needs lot of experience as a Test umpire to get the promotion.
He can officiate in BD ODIs.

But news (DS and PM and ICC) says that he will be officiating in the test: One-off Test between New Zealand and Zimbabwe at McLean Park in Napier on January 26, 2012.
I guess that does not make him elite yet?
There are two types of umpires
1. ICC EliteThe Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and Referees comprises the top umpires in the world. ... On average, each member of the Emirates Elite Panel annually stands in 8-10 Test matches and 10-15 ODIs, plus any ICC World events in that year - a potential on-field workload of 75 days plus travel and preparation time, per year. 2. ICC InternationalThe Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires comprises two officials nominated from each of the ten Test playing cricket boards.
Emirates International Panel members stand in One-Day International matches in their home country, as well as assisting the Emirates Elite Panel at peak times in the cricket calendar when they can be appointed to overseas ODI and Test matches. Date place venue teams fixed. He is Umpiring in test.

I guess this means that he just got his first test assignment.

Bangladesh's international panel umpire Enamul Haque Moni will officiate as an on-field umpire in the One-Day International series between South Africa and New Zealand. Moni has so far officiated in 43 ODIs.
Moni was the first ever Bangladeshi to be summoned by the ICC to stand as an on-field umpire in a match between two foreign teams. The three-match ODI series will begin on January 19. He'll be partnered in the series by Pakistan's Aleem Dar. http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesig...php?nid=265215
