Ireland will beat us easily. The truth... MMW.

Our next win will come next week - should win against Neatherlands. Don't know about Scottland though - they are good and were having lot of practice.

This Ireland two-match series will be tougher than many think. I propose a change, in that we give Faisal and Naeem a go. Tamim needs to get some runs now. Hence he stays. Rubel needs more exposure. he stays too. Naem need sto play in top order. Faisal needs exposure, though I'd be pretty interested to see Nazmul in the mix. I do not see any gains in playing Riyad for the rest of the series.

1.Tamim
2. Imrul
3. Zunaed
4. Jahurul
5. Naeem
6. Faisal/Nazmul
7. Sakib
8. Mashrafee
9. Razzak
10.Shafiul
11.Rubel

If we win the first one fairly comprehensively, Shafi can sit out for Nazmul.

Ireland seem fired up to play us and they should be..they've beaten us once in an ODI and once in a T20..and now their in their own conditions playing us..I hope the boys are ready because the Irish are labeling these games as the most important of the year..Tamim really needs to score big in both matches..he has to realize how important it is for him to score..Imrul's 110 ball 70's should make a big difference as well..hopefully the lower order can score those big time runs at the end of our innings as well..the key is for Rubel and Shafiul not to be too expensive and let Shakib and Razzak do their thing..lets see if the Irish can play against spin because the tour in BD they struggled against spin a lot..I'm really looking forward to this series..I hope we can beat the Irish and quiet them up..

We really needed Rokibul to minimize their chances of an upset. With players like Rokib, Imrul and Mushfiq we would have ensured that we bat the full 50 overs and put a decent total on the board. But with 2 of them out there is a lot of uncertainty.

A brief report
Belfast (14.07.2010)
Bangladesh National Cricket team arrived here in Belfast at 4 PM on Tuesday (13.07.2010) from Birmingham after a heavy defeat on the last ODI. There was no practice sessions scheduled for the team on 13th and it was a free day. All team members went out to dine together in a Bangladeshi restaurant nearby and had a sumptuous meal.
Although the weather forecast was threatening to hamper both the game Bangladesh team went to Stormont Cricket ground for a complete practice session. To their disappointment the ground was not ready after the continuous raining since last two days even it was drizzling when BD team arrive at the ground. Most of the Batsmen opted for the batting practice at Shankill Leisure Centre, which is multipurpose indoor centre but has excellent facilities for indoor cricket practice.
The tigers have been in Ireland before in 1998 when they played the host in one international on a badly rain interrupted tour and in 2004 when they won games, here at Stormont and the following day at Limavady. ODI ranking points are at stake and Ireland has the chance to close the gap on Bangladesh.
Of the previous games between the two countries, Bangladesh have won five, Ireland three and their first game at the world cup qualifier in Kuala lumpur in 1997 was no result.
Last game at Stormont was reduced by rain but Bangladesh reached their target off the last ball with just two wickets in hand. Something similar over these two days – the closeness of the match, rather than the bad weather- should keep the spectators, players and organizers happy.

Interview of Masrafee Mortaza
Q1. Do you think it will be easy against Ireland after you had good series in England?
Masrafee: Definitely it will not be a easy series and we are not taking Ireland lightly, we will be as serious at the field as we usually are against any top ranking team. Ireland is playing well as a team for last 2 years.
Q2. Do you know Ireland could close in the gaps in the ranking and overtake Zimbabwe?
Masrafee: None that I’m aware of at this moment but I’m sure Ireland will try their best to do in the world cricket. We need to play our best to outplay them in these two games.
Q3. Tamim Iqbal is one of the best Batsman you have in your side now, are you depending on him heavily ?
Masrafee: Of course Tamim is one of the finest player in our team but we also have other match winning bastmen like, Junayed, Imrul, Ashraul and few all-rounder like Riayd (Mahmudullah), Faisal.
Q4. You back in the team after a long time, how you are enjoying back with the boys and how you are enjoying the captaincy ?
Masrafee: It’s great to be fit and back into the team, I always like to play for the country and win. I’m also enjoying the captaincy, thanks to all of who trusted me with the responsibility to lead such a talented team.

Interview of William Porterfield
Q1. What do you think of Bangladesh's win against England in Bristol, was it a surprise for you?
William: It was certainly not a surprise, I know Bangladesh is capable of doing this anytime. They are a very balanced and experienced team and a great competitor.
Q2. Bangladesh lost the last game against England heavily, is it comforting for you or the team ?
William: This is completely different series and I know Bangladesh will come out of that lost series and will come hard against us.
Q3. After a good season what are you expecting to do as a team in home ground?
William: We definitely won’t let us down at home, we will play our best cricket and the better side will win the games.
Q4. Ireland did very good against Bangladesh in two consecutive ICC events, is it that you always play better against BD?
William: We really did well against them in recent past but they are a formidable side, we don’t expect to win easily but we are certain to put a good fight and hopefully it will be great series.
