Team of the Noughties!

I got the idea from a BBC article; select your Team of the Noughties, that is a balacned team of the best players to have played this decade,

A few guidelines to be requested;

1) Personal team bias is acceptable but nothing too outrageous please, e.g. I can understand a Man Utd fan putting in Giggs, but someone putting in Neville would be guilty of excessive bias

2) Lets try not to focus excessively on players who have shone only 2-3 years in the decade, that would mean someone like Messi or Batistuta.....

Selecting the defensive pair was particularly hard, as Terry, Ayala, Cannavaro, Carvalho, Nesta have all been excellent, however Puyol's physical nature and Ferdinand's relaxed demeanor and ease on the ball make them the perfect foil for each other...

Selecting the striker was also hard because, when compared to the last decade, where we had a deluge of excellent No. 9 's (Batistuta, Ronaldo, Romario, Shearer), we didnt seen that many spectacular out and out strikers this decade.

Alternates to RVN were Henry, Drogba, Crespo and David Villa

I'd have Cannavaro instead of Ferdinand, and Casillas for Buffon, but the rest of the team is well-picked... no space for Gerrard on the bench :p?

Excellent. Except I'd have Roberto Carlos instead of Thuram. And maybe Pirlo (instead of Dinho) as a defensive mid, if the midfield had a different formation.
