I saw the little interview and just the way she carried herself....
Also, I've heard from folks who saw her during her many visits to the US.

I thought she was very very smart there. She knows what to say and which questions not to answer - to keep her image right!! The image of beauty with Innocence has value (fake or not).

There have been quite a few Miss Universe and Miss World from India in the last one decade but there is no one in her league as far as capitalising on her celebrityhood is concerned. Most others have been forgotten even if their titles were of more recent vintage.
Aishwarya Rai has grown from strength to strength and it has been forgotton that it was exactly one decade ago that she finished second to Sushmita Sen in the Miss India competition. Sushmita Sen went on to become Miss Universe and a few months later, Aishwarya Rai went on to become Miss World unabashedly apeing Sushmita Sen's ( the then original mannerisms for beauty contestants)during the contest.

Aha ! In the Miss World contest when asked who her model person was, she answered that she wanted to be like Mother Teresa. How much honesty did you expect from her ?

I remember feeling very proud when two Indians won these contests (most Indians will probably say the same). Now it feels a little stupid. Guess these prizes had more value then.

I thought she giggled a little too much but other than that the interview was OK. Don't know if she is fake nor do I care. They spent a lot of time on whether or not she will kiss in Hollywood movies, and about how "clean" those Hindi movies are. What are they talking about - whether they kiss or not is immaterial, when the movies are by and large soft **** in nature. What hypocrisy!

"the movies are by and large soft **** in nature" - you stole my words and you know what, Meri Ma Ki Kasam, Me tujhe Jinda Nahin chorunga (by my moms honor, I will kill you).
Just turn the movie on or the channels on and watch the songs. I saw the remix dance version of "Babuji (jara dhire chalo)" at my inlaws Sunday. The girl was barely wearing anything and ... so much for innocence. Aish has her share of 'dance' sequences as well.
