Opening is not something so hard, it is not like asking a fast bowler to bowl spin, Marshall virtually opened in first innings.
The reason I'm so keen to pick Naeem is because he is in very good form.

I understand your frustration with Anamul. His technique so far does look poor for a Test opener and he hasn't produced the runs we need him to produce so far. However this is the role given to him by the think tank even though he is a no. 3 batter. He was pushed upto open because there were no other available slot for him to fit in. Test opening is indeed a specialist position. You look at any other team and you would find there are a certain group of players who open and it is never a Ponting or Kallis or Dravid even though many times they have to do the job due to early wickets falling. Pushing Naeem upto open is unfair to Naeem because that is not his role. What will happen if he scores a duck? Then we would have destabilized both Anamul and Naeem with one wrong selection.
The short term solution is to drop Anamul but the long term solution is to coach him and develop his game so that he can survive at the role he has been given.
