Default My verdict (from the spot)

Oct 7: The darkness in front of me as I sit in the press box is better than what I witnessed all day.
But to be serious, it was just disappointing cricket to be honest. None of the batsmen did anything worth sitting up and taking notice. Only a small passage when Ash blasted six boundaries but that too fizzled out after 20-odd balls. Nafees just played out too many deliveries.
West Indies look poor with the bat but good when bowling short, especially Rampaul.
He was quite diplomatic in the end, not really mentioning their plans to bowl more short stuff in the weeks to come. As if he'd tell the media, such is our questions!

Highlight of the day: Ravi Rampaul's second spell.

J.O. of the day: Shahriar Nafees 16 off 51 balls.

Stat of the day: Five WI batsmen gave catches to long on or long off.
