Its a very promising start by none other than arguably one of our best footballer ever.
Good to see he is doing his bit to put Bangladesh football into the map again.

But none of this glitz, glamour and money would help if the actual condition of the playing fields are not improved. Have you seen the Bangabandhu Stadium on a rainy day?
Its nothing but a puddle of mud.
And you cant simply hope to create good footballers and football in that kind of environment.

Atleast there is a start.

Players are complaining for that also. Mainly because of the excessive clay content in the ground as cricket was the main sports for six to seven years.
They spent millons of taka but forget to resurface the ground. But that was prior to Salhuddin's reign. I have read in newspaper few days back this problem has been spotted by the players now lets see what the authority do about it. It also stated they will only need about 20 lakh to resurface.

Bid to stop fixed games in B league
Staff Correspondent
In a bid to stop match-fixing in the B league the Bangladesh Football Federation has changed the fixture format which received a mixed reaction from the clubs.
The second edition of the professional league of Bangladesh kicks off on Saturday with the reigning champions Dhaka Abahani facing Rahmatganj MFS in the opening match. The BFF had held a draw for the last year’s inaugural edition of the league as the participating clubs had no position. But after the inaugural year the clubs expected that the fixtures would be made as per old convention of number one team playing the number eleven side and moving upwards.
Instead, the BFF followed the old format just for the first round and under the format Dhaka Abahani, the reigning champions, face the number eleven team Rahmatganj in the first round. But the BFF did not follow that rule from the second round.
As per the convention, Dhaka Abahani and Dhaka Mohammedan were supposed to face off in the last match of the league but it will not happen this time. Both the teams will play against each other in the middle of the league. But the new format was not welcomed by the clubs due to some drawbacks.
Initially the BFF did not inform any clubs about the format of the league and there was no draw. So every club thought that it would be a conventional fixture. But after finding it different they started a hue and cry. Dhaka Abahani and Sheikh Russell rushed to the BFF House on Wednesday night and asked for a clarification.
Abahani manager Satyajit Das Rupu, however, was calm at last. ‘The federation should have been informed us about the format change earlier to avoid any controversies, the B league committee has followed the AFC rules but the clause added at the end of the fixture says, “the committee can make changes to the fixtures and bringing some matches forward’ that caused the controversy, we have to remain vigilant if any particular club gets any undue advantage,’ said Rupu.
Dhaka Abahani, Brothers Union and Sheikh Russell were curious to see Dhaka Mohammedan play their big matches earlier than the other title contenders. But Abu Nayeem Shohag sees nothing wrong in it. ‘We just placed A vs B, B vs C and moved onwards, there is nothing confusing in the format, we had to think about the home an away basis games also, a good look through the fixture can give clear the picture,’ said the manager of B league.

Will this B league improve the standard of football? How? Is there any good coaches/foreign stars playing in any team?

Will it create new tallents? How? like are the teams under compulsion of maintaining a junior team to feed the main team?
