Is he getting scared by the spinners already? He became a victim of spin bowling 3 out of 5 times in this series already.
BTW, this was just a joke. He looks like a Tiger in the picture!!!

cuz the question asked him what's his "personal" choice! India's the favourite team of Nafis Iqbal, no question! The guy knows which team to support!

I actually think he is retracting what he had said in Dhaka. But thats okay. He was a cocky kid who had just scored a hundred against them, so we can allow him a cocky comment or two. Plus, I dont think he was contemplating playing for Bangladesh anytime soon at at that point. But obviously he can't stand by that now, with the prospect of facing one or both of those same spinners again over the next two weeks! So, he really had no choice but to retract. Its all good!

Agent, the last great English spinner was Underwood in my opinion. Since then, England has produced a whole bunch of mediocre spinners, so calling them ordinary shouldn't be one of the greatest moments of Bangladesh cricket.
However, the day we can smear their seamers around and then call them ordinary, that will be the day!

What's wrong if he shows a bit of arrogance and says the English spinners were rdinary? Let him have his time in the sun. In any case, it will make him more aggressive and play better. Just look at how Ganguly's aggressive, often arrogant, behaviour has propelled Indian cricket...

its not the event itself that he made them ordinary is so memorable. what memorable was his attitude.

in sports, a good level of cockiness is needed, it appears as though ash and nafis have it.
masri, doesn't have it, nor does he need it. he lets his play do all the talking.
some athletes need to trash talk, others don't. just depends on their individual personalities

So Iqbal finally ate up his words
I heard his interview (thanks to BC), he sure called those two spinners ordinary. He further said Bangladesh had good spinners, which is otherway to say our spinners were better than them (good > ordinary).
Anyway, I always liked him, he sounds more mature now.

well nafis iqbal said that he did not call england spinner ordinary, he was nervous and it came out wrong. it wasnt meant that way. the media can hype up any little thing and make it into a big deal. a person can mean one thing but the media can make people believe something else. i like this kids atitude, i thought his innins against zimbabwe was one of the most important innins from a bangladeshi batsman. i rate it with akram khans innins against holand at 97s icc trophy. best of luck to him.

I agree 100%. Future Captain material maybe. I think he will be a better captain than Ashraful and Rajin.

Cricketers who are humble in their words and arrogant in the field ... that's what we need. Looks like Nafis is more than half-way there!
He sounds very grounded and still quite confident. So refreshing!

It will be wonderful if he shows his gutsy character again in field ( this time in England and in real test )

A good interview. He talks maturely than Ash.
However, regarding English spinners, I remember it came in the press that he mentioned about the spin of G. Batty, which was really ordinary and toothless.
