Bangladesh Tour of Zimbabwe, Jul 30 - Aug 10 202
Schedule:
1st T20I: July 30
2nd T20I: August 1
3rd T20I: August 2
1st ODI: August 5
2nd ODI: August 7
3rd ODI: August 10
All the matches will be played at Harare. BCB offered senior players a break from this tour, but so far only Shakib accepted, other said they're interested to go. Saifuddin has been ruled out of the tour as he's yet to recover from his back injury.
IMO, it's high time BCB forces Riyad to retire from ODI and focus on T20I only. He's not a player you want to carry to WC'23. This tour should not be wasted on him, but should be used to groom his ODI replacement (Nurul is the most obvious candidate for now).

My T20I starting XI would be:
Liton
Munim
Afif
Mushfiq
Mosaddek
Riyad
Nurul
Mrittunjoy
Taskin/Shoriful
Fizz
Nasum
In absence of Saifuddin (still has not recovered from back injury), imo, Mrittunjoy should be given a go as a death bowler in this T20I series (before he joins the A-team in WI for one-day matches).

^^ The T20I series in Zim will end on Aug 2 while the A-team one-day series in WI will start on Aug 16 - he would have plenty of time to rest and train in between. Even if they keep him as a net bowler during the ODI series in Zim, which ends on Aug 10, there will be still plenty of time for him to join A-team before start of the list-A matches.

Pointless series. Why do we always keep playing against Zim?

A series against Zim or WI can be useful if you know how to use it. Look at how India rested good number of seniors in their upcoming WI tour and using it to groom younger players, letting Dhawan leading the team. Prior to WC'07, a Zimbabwe tour actually helped us to groom a young core of players in Shakib-Mushfiq-Tamim.
We can use the T20I series to groom a new opener in Munim or Bijoy, as well as grooming couple of death bowlers. For the ODI series, ask seniors like Mushfiq, Riyad, Miraz, and Taskin to sit out. Let Tamim utilize it to groom others who are yet to find their feet firmly in this format. Ask Fizz to cut down on his cutters and learn to use his swings more.

Win 6-0 and do it convincingly. That should be the goal.

Riyad lost T20I captaincy and his place in the team. Mushfiq has been left out of T20I team as well, while Miraz makes a return. Sohan will be the interim T20I captain as Shakib skips the tour.

Bangladesh ODI squad: Tamim Iqbal (capt), Litton Das, Anamul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan (wk), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mosaddek Hossain, Taijul Islam

ESPNcricinfo understands that the appointment of Nurul is a stopgap arrangement until Shakib, who is also Bangladesh's Test captain, takes over the captaincy full-time when he returns to the side for the Asia Cup, which is scheduled to begin at the end of August.

Why persist with Anamul ?
We might do well to reuse forgotten players :
1.Soumya
2.Imrul
3.Zunaid
4.Nazimuddin
5.Nasir
6.Jahurul
7.Mashrafe
8.Opi
9.Zia
10.Aminul
11. Shahadat Hossain

In absence of Shakib, Bijoy should be tried at #3 for both T20I and ODI series. Unfortunately, because of Siddons and Tamim's favoritism, those opportunities are more likely to go to Shanto, despite Shanto being poor in all formats.

what a pathetic team - I hope this team does not go to the World Cup!
Comes to Zim to get some confidence back and this happens

So I started watching when the final 4 overs started and obviously I won't waste my time watching the highlights of a failed cause... but now that things have calmed down, I don't think we played that bad judging by the SR. I mean Sohan really put up a fight.
But the thing is had the script was reversed and Zimbo needed that same exact equation, they would have bludgeoned us past the finish line. That's what the frustrating part is. We seriously need to invest in some powerhitters. (Where are the prison-fed, whey protein creatine shake 8 eggs a day and 2 litres of (yes that's liter with 're' ladies and gentlemen...) Bangladeshi Men's Fitness Squad six-pack keto Thomas De Lauer buff chads of the country FFS!!
Liton's run out was pretty weird too. But yeah almost all of the batsman had good SR. Possibly this would be a great series. Will be back tomorrow.
And of course congratulations Zimbabwe on a well-deserved victory and thoroughly outplaying us.

I guess to sum up ^^^ In T20 and ODI unless we are consistently scoring 180+ and 320+ we won't sniff a tournament victory against bigger guns. For that we need to change our homegrown pitch. Probably bring in drop in pitches or something.

One positive thing from this match, Nurul acted like a captain and took responsibility. This is a good sign for the future.
Liton's runout was just . ..

wow Saikat 4/14 - I wanted Zim to score another 200 so that we can have another go to chase - not going to happen at 20/4.
