Match Thread: Practice Match II - Bd v Srilanka Board XI
Match starts in about an hour or so. What are our ways to get scores? According to bangladesherkhela faisal and tareq are not playing in this match. that probably means this is the squad:
1. Javed
2. Ash
3. Habibul
4. Rajin
5. Alok
6. Rana
7. Sujon/Mushfiq
8. pilot
9. rafiq
10. rajjak
11. tapash
*bold letters are possible changes.
given the srilankan situation, i think sujon is more likely to play instead of mushfiq.
it would be interesting to see how rajjak does, since the opponents are not morons by any means and this performances in practice matches are good indication for the tournaments.

Whats wrong???????
i'm kinda lost here. just compare this practice match with the one in WI. we called there several times to get the score. there were several members visiting, like an original match time. in fact, one thread of the practice match is still the most viewed thread. now, what is so much difference between that match and this one? seems like there is not even 10% interest in members.

I agree Agent. Maybe everybody is taking a breather after the WI series and getting ready for a hectic year upfront. No worries, people will be back soon as Asia cup starts. Plus, these opponents are not as fancied as the ones that we faced in parctice matches over in the carribeans. Also, very few outlets and newspapers covered these matches. We still don't know the scorecard from the last match except a few notables. So there has been a lack of interest all around. Euro 2004 was another factor..hang in there for a week. everything will be back to normal.

I am really frustrated about the interest of the members in these practice matches. I don't understand why members are so indifferent now.

wel no live match or score coverage is one reason.. but there is another too.
Probably everyone is settling down now.. with so much going on all around. So many series n tournaments... does disorient everyone a bit.. which one to take as most important??
but the most impoartant thing is that.. the time for only good performances is over.. everyone expects victories (not in practice matches but in tough real matches) now... ONLY THAT will boost the fan's morals again! im sure!
we hav started to think our team to be the 'big guys' now.. thats a good sign!
Agent.. i donno if u r in dhaka.. but even after coming back frm such good performances frm WI... common ppl dint go to the airport to greet them whn they came back!!
u know why??
I think their expectation is getting much higher now a days.. I don think thts a bad sign at all..! the fans r just getting more n more confident on their team... mayb thts why they don bother much about the practice matches!!
anyway... ppl wil get live whn the real tournament starts!
cheer up!!

i used to live in dhaka, but not anymore. didn't know that general fans did not go to greet them in the airport. yeah, i agree thats a good sign. and no doubt, there will be more people during the real tournament.
btw, could this be a reason that, people are more willing to avoid work than sleep? since most of the members are in western countries here, its sleep time.

Well, its outing time for most of us. Could you believe even I'm having hardtime staying online! But I guess all will show up just ontime. Besides most members have been visiting regularly, just not spending too much time, that's all. I already noticed increased activities lately. Cheers.

Nothing can distract or avert my attention from any BD match, whether it is a practice match or else. Sometimes silence also has its own language

Indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the reason behind lack or participation is not lack of interest, as someone already said it's the timing. of course we all love to sleep, but I think it's more to do with our hatred to work, even the smallest fan will follow cricket while at work.

donno if i am repeating the joke:
once in an exam table, a very naughty(n obviously tallented) student was found not writing even a word in the exam-paper..
whn only 5 mins left of the exam-bell.. the teacher got to him and asked "is the question too hard??"
actually the question asked for an essay on 'A cricket match'
the boy dint reply the teacher.. hence took his pencil just one min before the bell and wrote something like a line on the paper n submitted it.
whn examining the papers.. the teacher found that boy's paper with written on it:
".. it's raining.. so no play today!!"
cheers everyone!

Hi, I am the new member of this forum and this my very first post. I am not a cricket specialist but i love this game. It is really bad news that the second match is abandoned due to rain. Hope third match which will start today will go on.
Thanks everybody.

nice interview.. thanx sports_fan.
the team really seems to be eger to win... i never saw this team so much hungry before!!
in an earlier post here i wrote tht the fans r hungry for wins now... it seems i am wrong.. coz not just the fans.. the team is also desperate!!....
i don think we hav to wait much long for some stunning performance by them!!.... maybe this Asia Cup is going to bring us big surprises!!
GO BANGLADESH!!
