Default 2015 schedule released by BCB (Donal C will be happy!)

4 home series after the world cup (only 1 test vs India, 6 against Pak, SA, and Aus)

BCB decides NOT to tour ZIM (prolly afraid of losing and ruining confidence before WC...also ZIM are poor hosts).

BCB wants to do the UAE associates tournament in January.

Decent IMO. Will allow us to scout AFG further before our WC clash.

Six tests in one year (particularly in a World Cup year) is better than none, but I wish we had scheduled two more. Maybe we can fit in two more tests in ZIM next November? I think we should be aiming for eight tests a year, like the other boards too.

Other than that, looks like a really good calendar. The line-up of opponents (PAK, IND, RSA, AUS) would make anyone rub their hands in glee.

Also makes sense to be playing exclusively on home turf (apart from the WC of course): we get to find our feet in test cricket in familiar conditions, with massive encouragement from the "12th man" (our fans) and with lots of revenue to boot.

7 tests, not 6. Ideally 8, but I'm more than pleased with 7. Draw against India especially in the rainy season, they will want to add 1 more themselves.

Looks like we will only get 1 off tests vs Ind...not bad especially of we play them frequently.

BCB actually lose revenue in most home series, except against India. In other home series, sponsorship money generally turns out to be nominal. They have given away the cash cow, ie the broadcasting rights, to Gazi TV for cheap.

The tournament is organized by ICC (whose headquarters is in Dubai), not by any individual board.

Is it an official ODI tournament? Will we send our national side?

^^Yes to both questions. Associates taking part in the tournament (IRE, AFG, SCO, UAE) all have ODI status.

What ever we achieved in tests last 3 weeks will be washed away next year.

honestly speaking if we want to improve in tests we need to play more against teams like Zim, NZ, WI, Sri at home preferably.

I feel so loved

Great news anyway, we get to beat yous, and your batsman get some nice stat boosts in the other games

Seriously though, for a moment their I thought BCB had announced a home series vs us or something.

Oh well, the UAE tournament should be a great boost to us all

Afghanistan, Ireland, and Scotland all holding training camps in Dubai, so they will be more familiar with pitches over there than us (not to mention it's the home ground for UAE team).

Since this is for WC prep, I am guessing ICC will prepare bouncy tracks.

Technically Afghanistans home pitch too.

Does every team play each other twice or how does it work??

More importantly for me, will the Bangladesh games be televised?? I long for the day where I can actually watch TV commentaries that arent highlights of the world cup or BPL.

^^ No detail given yet other than it will be a 15 days tournament (Jan 10-24) in Dubai.

I doubt sports channels will be interested to broadcast a low profile tournaments like this, when higher ranking teams will be busy playing against each other leading up the WC. Most likely you will have to be content with highlights provided by ICC.

BCCI won't be able to take a 0-3, you know!

Test nations have a duty to help associates. I really hope Associates beat a few sides this WC. Would love to see IRE beat Pak and/or India.

BCB is probably afraid of touring Zim cuz a loss will destroy confidence before the WC. Plus ZC are terrible hosts, they will do anything to beat us after the hammering they will get in BD.

15 days is a long tourney. My guess is each team plays the other 5 and top 2 play a final. In UAE conditions, ZIM may not even be favored to reach the final!
