We had it in Shumon and a bit in Pilot who used to keep one side alive like the great The Wall; it seems we are missing a wall in our current line up (including BD-A and Under-19).
Who do you think does have the potential to be our next The Wall?

I wouldn't consider either of them even close to a "wall". Bashar usually didn't get out to horrendous shots like the ones we saw from Shakib and Tamim the other day. However, that doesn't necessarily mean he was more patient or had the "grind it out attitude". Also, when chips were down, time and again he went out executing his favourite hook shot. Tell me one instance where Bashar played like even half a wall.

Well, I am not comparing Bashar with Rahul here - just pointing out we are missing a batter like him in our squad. Bashar used to called "Mr. 50", thus used him as an example.

I thought Rok was going to play that role. But he failed. Cement er wall to durer kotha, rok hoitase dui number sheola pora posa pokorer moddhe thaka basher bera.
Always thought Rokibul will be difficult to remove. I also thought That Imrul would be gritty and fighting it out. Clearly, I know nothing about cricket.

I understand. By no means I am comparing Bashar with Dravid. What I am trying to say is that Bashar never had any wall-like attitude. His Mr.50 nickname was due to his average, which is never an indicator of "wall-ness". For that matter, Tamim is averaging 40+ now but he is nowhere near being a wall. IMHO, if anyone showed real wall-like attitude, it was Rajin Saleh, especially in that Pakistan series.

I have just joined your club "I know nothing about cricket"

I love Bangladesh cricket and that's why I found BanglaCricket.com
I had high hopes that Junaid Siddique could have done the job in Tests but it looks like he has regressed and is in awful "form" ever since Siddons left, the same could be said for Imrul, his form in ODIs (he's always sucked in Tests) has been worse than a year or two ago. I don't think either of these two are going to be the solution.
even a season ago, i would have said Faisal Hossain. But one season is enough to change my decision. Currently i see that for test cricket, a potential wall could be someone like Farhad Hossain. half walls could be revived such as Rajin Saleh. Current team wall is Mushfiq. He is inconsistent but he has all the skills to be a wall. It is too early to call either of Naeem or Nasir a "wall" But I would to see them as one in future.
To me in future Naeem will be our best wall.Need to put him at #4 in test cricket.Mushy also has a tendency to hang on and bad long. Posted via BC Mobile Edition
Naeem does have the temperament to become The Wall but one needs to be technically perfect to be like that.
It's not only because NAeem is patient & can block block, but also need to have the techniques to be a Wall, so far idk much about him but Mushy looks more reliable to me,in fact a commentator already called Mushy the WAll recently, can't remember.
