Default College Football (NCAA Div -I) 2005/06

what a shocker. OU losing to TCU. If Texas loses to Ohio State that will be the end of their rose bowl hopes. Notredame has a big game against Michigan this week. Go SEC. Bulldogs and the Gators all looking good. Vols, LSU tigers will be there at the end of the season.

Am rooting for Cal to shock the world.

Vince "who"? Unless Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush Goes to NFL by next week ....
Winning against cupcake teams and being in a cupcake conference does not get Heisman. Playing a soft shedule (only 1 top fifteen team 2 top 25 team) will severly hurt any chance of getting to the rose bowl also. Just a reminder: Did maack brown beat Stoopes? 0-5.

buckeyes: yep they are down just as they were down against Miami in bowl championship.

No. 2 Texas defeated No. 4 Ohio State 25-22 in columbus, Ohio in front of 100000 ppl.

Vince Young ran for 74 yards and threw for 272 yards and two TDs.
I guess now you know who "Vince Young" is .

I am a Nebraska fan. Sad to see the Huskers are out of top 25 for the first time in recent history. Nice to see Texas (a Big 12 team) won against Ohio State.

Huskies used to be a powerhouse in Big 12 North but its been really weakened lately. Probably colorado will be in the Big 12 Championship game.

I know who vince Y is. he is a shadow of Matt Jones who he saw destroying texas at austin 2 years back. by the way, congrates on your win but that would not put you an automatic in the rose bowl. The shedule (conference) is too weak. They would not face any team with over 8 wins. That includes OU. So even if they run the table any other undefeated team from SEC or Florida State/VTech will be ahead of the long horns.

Ohio State is over rated. You will c when they play Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Michigan state.

Vtech has a real shot at it this season. All they have to do is beat Florida State and they should be home free. my Hawkeyes are going nowhere. Had high hopes but the cyclones (Iowa state) burried them eary.

Penn State - 6-0
USC - 5-0
Texas - 5-0
Texas Tech - 5-0
Va.Tech - 6-0
Florida State - 5-0
Georgia - 5-0
Alabama - 5-0
UCLA - 5-0

At least 5 of these teams will go Undefeated, So who plays in the National Title game? the teams that are bolded are the two that i think should play for the BCS title game if they go undefeated. Sorry to the other undefeateds that wont play in the Rose Bowl

Big games this week: USC VS ND, Penn State vs Mich.

Georgia needs to win against Florida at the swamp. Very hard to do. Then win against Georgia tech, then SEC championship against LSU/ Auburn/ Bama. Don't think they can stay undefeated.

I like Fl State's chances. They only face the gators at the swamp and thats it.

Va tech, ya baby, they should handle Miami at home and they are also home free.

Overrated Bama will face LSU/ Tenn/ Auburn and SEC championship game. Can't see them going undefeated.

Penn State will visit Michigan, and has Wisconsin.

Texas plays T Tech and A & M. USC plays UCLA.

You are absolutely correct cricman. 5 teams,
1. USC 2. Texas 3. Penn St. 4. Va tech. 5. Fl State can go undefeated. It would be hard to pick 2 teams. I like playoffs. 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3. the winners play.

Long season though anything can happen.

Week 7:
1. USC 2. Texas 3. Va Tech 4. Georgia 5. Bama

Can't rely on Texas Tech (face Texas) and UCLA's (face USC) undefeated season.

I am hoping Va Tech beat Miami. Doesn't matter Boston college or Fl State in the ACC championship game.

Pathetic performance by T. Tech. They don't deserved to be ranked. Over-rated Georgia, Bama almost lost. Only hope to derail long horns is Va tech.

lol, faceoff: I would be really happy for Mack Brown. But how can I love Long Horns and livin Arkansas (the Hog land)? T Tech gave up, just as Ark gave up on USC 70-17. Thats with 3rd string playing on 4th Quarter.

Watch what you wish for. OU found out last season. Good luck on your Rose bowl game.

Georgia is out. Bama still breathing (not for long though - SEC is too strong to send an undefeated team). Va tech looks good. Texas got a scare. USC rolled. waiting for UCLA.

I hate Notre Dame. With 2 losses they are ranked 8th? Are the polling people crazy?

No they switched places with USC. From here on the schedule does not help UT. Where as VA Tech has Miami and perhaps Florida State. Winning those two games may put Va Tech incharge. USC plays UCLA so there thrength of schedule is not bad.
USC back on top of BCS, flip-flopping with Texas

Well then it is settled. Longhorns and USC at Pasadena (Rose Bowl). Even if they drop one of the remaining two games. I guess cupcake conference will have another representative to be humiliated at the hands of USC.

Still can't believe that Va Tech lost at home to Miami and LSU lost to Tennesse.

Go Hogs 2007.

Bowls are money making tree (post season) for the NCAA Football. As you can see with so many bowls the winners feel like they have done something in the season. i would prefer a playoff system 4 or 8 teams over this BCS crap.

Rose bowl is not as the super bowl. That's where PAC -10 and Big 10 conference winners use to play each year. BCS bowls rotate the championship match among the four bowls (fiesta, sugar, orange, rose) each year. Last year it was Orange Bowl. This year it just happened to be Rose bowl. Different conferences has contract with these bowls to send there best teams. To participate or to be eligble to play a bowl game a team must have a winning season.

Each BCS bowl participating schools get over 12 - 16 Million USD which then is used to fund the school's athletics department. Lower bowls give out less money. Yes, Money is behind everything!!

Unlike NFL there is no clearcut champion in College football. AP poll, coaches poll now BCS announces the champion. In a time of disagreement two teams are crowned as co-champs.
