Who is our equivalent of Shikhar Dhawan?
I am disgusted by The Tamim 's performance today, and I think he is getting haughty day by day thinking his place is sealed. He should be given a stern warning/message that such is not so. We need new blood. But my domestic knowledge is as deep as orphy's hallucination of his harem.
Possibly Nadim or Sohel bhai or Mohammad bhai could help me enlighten if we should replace him with someone and who might s/he be? Is there worthy of such person?
As for Shikhar Dhawan, well at least Abul is our Ashton Agar, and Shakib our Paul Adams. Nasir our Bradman, Ashraful our Azharudding ... so who might this Shikhar Dhawan of BD be?
Thamen thamen bhais...one post per person plz...

Tayle naddim Shabbir Rahman Roman k niye eto lafa lafi kore kano. I think Anamul may be sick man's Dhawan. Easily one of the most bada-- innings by a Bangladehsi.
We actually won by 160 runs? WTF

Yet another fantastic thread. Have to wonder how Zee keeps coming up with all the relevant and necessary threads for the sake of mankind.

Eta to holo na. Koi bhablam shokalbela BC te eshe dekhbo 33/39 er jonno who is a bigger genius Shakib or Tamim thread khule jabe, shekhane apnara torkatorki korben, ta na, ulta kothakar kon Shikhar Dhawan ke niye lafalafi.
Btw, if Anamul Vijay can be half of Murali Vijay, we'll have a decent chance to beat Eritrea 5 times out of 10.

I don't think Anamul getting as good as Dhawan or even Kohli, but he is the closest thing you have. He has the grit to occupy the crease and play the long innings, and handle the pressure of international cricket, so I think that works to his advantage.

I want a player with Shikhar Dhawan's moustache, Hashim Amla's beard and Ishant Sharma's hair. Any face would do, for obvious reasons.

Haha you are missing the point bro.
The whole point of mentioning Shikhar Dhawan is that he is sort of a phenom. Prodigy but 'late bloomer'...so in essence I was asking who is some of the sensational rising stars?

By that definition then, it can't be Anamul since it's too early to tell whether he's a late bloomer or not. Dhawan first started playing international cricket in 2010 and played domestic cricket a while whereas Anamul has basically just started. The best one I could think of even though it's a bit laughable is Shamsur Rahman. He was supposed to be the next big thing in our cricket but took him some time to break in to the national team. Recently though he was on fire in the BPL and finally got chances this year. With Shamsur too, we don't know how he'll do in international cricket.

i know but but I am saying Sikhar Dhawan even though a sort of a phenom like you said is still not someone who is a 100% proven. He is still very new. Yes so far, it looks like he is true class but lets wait and see a year or 2. We have seen some very talented cricketers in past who faded away after a great start. And no i am not only talking about youngstars.
So i prefer individuals like Amla and Trott who had a nice upward curve throughout their career and have made steady improvement.
