Get em playing!
I know this was discussed before but does it take a genius to understand that "practice makes it perfect"?
We have NCL, BCL, DPL and BPL. 4 tournys. Other than the monsoon season, these 4 tournys should be extended and divided well during the calender year. Why is it so difficult to keep the players in action for most of the year? What BCB does these days is have NCL, BCL, DPL, BPL and international schedule all overlapping each other within a short time frame (mostly winter). With our international fixture, we should have no problem scheduling extended seasons throughout the year.
Forget about lifting the quality of the tournaments. We need these tournaments to actually take place properly first. Our FC players are usually busy eating biryani and borhani all year and when that busy schedules gets to them where they have to play like 4 tournaments next to each other they get tired, injured because the whole year they were in hibernation and fitness was not in their list.
I believe fitness and experience is a bigger issue than talent in our country and these 2 factors can be minimized if not eliminated with more games. Yes I know the quality of our tournaments are not great but hey I would rather have them play and become more engaged with the sport than sit around and wait for that intense and competitive tournament which is not coming anytime soon.
My suggestion of the schedule should be something like this,
BPL (September-October) Because with Champions League happening around this time of the year, a good number of teams dont have anything scheduled. Allows more international players to be available
NCl (December-February) Probably the best time to play longer version cricket due to the cool weather
BCL (March-April) Should follow right after NCL
DPL (May-June) Right before the Monsoon starts
