This has been confirmed that Shakib is going to play this year BigBash in Australia, however, this is not confirmed who he is playing for..

Congrats Shakib

Btw we are playing england in adelaide which is a spinning track and will suit bd players better. Anyone knows how is melbourne pitch as we are playing srilanka there. Icc will be making the pitches so i guess they will make them as batting friendly as possible. Then again we got folded for 58 and 78 in our own backyard

That's the key. It's usually our players mental frailties rather than the conditions. Hopefully our players won't fold like the last WC. That time our core players were 23 year olds and now they are 27 year olds. So hopefully they've become mentally stronger

Great news btw that Shakib is eligible to play. Hope he gets selected by a team. This experience would be great for him and could be crucial for our success

Great idea, at least one of our best batsmen will have time to get acclimatized to the conditions.

How do you know that? Any source?

It doesn't no matter if he gets a team he can able to play all over Australia - ( home and away)

Can't afford an injury to him at this stage.

Shakib is pretty unknown to the Aussies, I don't think he's even rated as anything substantial by them either. In the previous BBL, when Ponting was commentating, he thought Shakib was still captain of BD.

Those who follow cricket, they all know Shakib. That is all that matters. Clubs know his value.

he was a replacement for injuired Botha; as per the contract he could not able to play when Botha was back. So this year he should find a permanent spot rather than replacement. I want him to play for syndney sixers. lets see.

PS-By the look of it, i am sure they are contacting shakib.. recruiters must know about him and his performance. So in terms of suitabilty this is not an issue.

For sake of argument, lets say people don't really follow Bangladesh team. But this guy helped Knight Riders to win IPL, no reason not to notice him (for anyone that follows T20 cricket).

But the same folks don't look much into Bangladesh cricket.

For someone like Punter claiming that he is the Bangladesh captain tells you quite a bit. SAffers don't know much about him either.

the aust crowd is pretty ignorant when it comes to bangladesh and the lower ranked teams. They dismiss any achievements saying it was against ireland/zimbabwe etc and flat tracks bla blah

Folks I work with all the aussies here, they don't care about Bangladesh. They always think we are lower rank team so they just ignore it. They only value England, Sf and India. So this is us who should lift up our ranking and beat the giants in a regular basis.
