Real shame Fed is out...
Novak to walk the rest of the tournament. Just because Roger decided to roll over for Murray at the Olympics doesn't mean he's gonna get the job done this weekend.
I am however pleased at Nadal failing and his body ever increasingly failing him. Absolutely hate his style of play, and his demise(I know it's early) is a Godsend.

The second set of Murray vs Cilic match was really enjoyable to watch. Murray came from 1-5 down to take the set in tie breaker. Cilic never recovered from the shock and could not mount a fight in the last two sets.
Murray vs Berdych will be a tough match for Murray.

You cannot underestimate Del Potro. He can challenge anybody on any surface when he's physically fit 100%. Murray/Berdych would be an interesting match. Murray trails 2-4 in the head-to-heads.

novak is going to beat del potro from here. murray i think has a good chance to win the whole thing but i think you'd be silly if you didn't back novak, just because of his recent grand slam record.

was in really good form before the french open to....but when she is on fire i don't think anyone beats her, if sshe loses it's usually because she beats herself.

After 4 hours and 53 mins, Andy Murray beats Novak Djokovic in five thrilling sets to win the US Open and his first Grand Slam title.

So Federer is still #1? I guess first time in a long time couldn't cash in when Nadal wasn't playing. Good win to end the streak for Murray.

Can't say I saw that coming...despite his wimbledon final and then the Gold at the Olympics, I just thought he'd freeze when the big moment arrived.
I should have given him more credit, he's played really well the past couple of weeks and Djokovic hasn't been exactly dominant all tournament long....
Well deserved 1st GS for Murray

Wimbledon, Olympic Gold Medal and now US Open! Murray has been on the form of his lifetime! Kudos to him. He played really well. Although I'm a Djoker fan, but Murray has been brilliant the past couple of months.

^ It seemed an overkill to make a thread just for the final.
This Japanese guy was so incompetent, made the whole contest boring.

Congratulations to Serena Williams: most major wins in Open era- 308.
Breaking from Roger Federer whom she was tied with.
* I didn't see any current Tennis thread, hence I posted here....
