Default Mosaddek vs Mithun - who sits out England encounter?

Ok, this should be a no brainer. We are really lacking in the bowling department. SA scored 300 with scoreboard pressure and we may need to defend low totals, either way - doesn't matter if you score high or low, in order to defend you need a strong bowling attack and it is not an accident that we lost even with a batting heavy side.

To be honest, it could be Miraz too. I like Miraz but whoever I have spoken to or even the commentators, if you take their words everyone rates Miraz highly. I don't know why but it is what it is. Therefore, I am not touching him for the next game.

To me, there is good talent sitting outside the BD team, and although this game we didn't touch the winning combination and rightly so, we need to atleast think about bringing a bowler in. I know chopping and changing can really hurt a team's moral and momentum, even if we lose, I mean look at SA. The reason SA is in such a slump is because they are changing players every game, same for Sri Lanka.

But, between Mosaddek or Mithun, who whould you sit out though? Doing the maths here, Mosaddek can bowl 4/5 overs and can score quickly. Mithun is batting at Mahmudullah's place and doesn't bowl but keeps, and it doesn't look like Mushy is giving up keeping anytime soon.

Who comes in as well? I think we need someone like Rubel. We need a pacer because Mashrafe is not bowling well and his body seems to have caved in and looks unfit as well. He is the leader we need though so no question of leaving him, and he may just try to get a bit healthier and bowl better as days progress.

Between Mosaddek and Mithun, I would say Mithun has been given chances, he hasn't underperformed heavily, but as I said, we desperately need a bowler and I if Mahmudullah could bowl then maybe we would have had 3 offspinners and we could sit out one but, Mahmudullah is not bowling and it is hurting our team combination bad. Next match, I want to see Rubel!

I would keep Mossadek and take out Mithun for Shabbir. Also Mehedy could be replaced by Rubel. I think Mehedy is a liability outside slow tracks. He has no control of line and lenght.

Mithun is comfortable against pace...…

Rubel in is a no brainer as Mashrafee is not bowling well

Maybe Mahmudullah should be the one sitting out ? He isn't bowling much and Mosaddek and Saifuddin at 7 and 8 are batting well enough to bat at 6 and 7 instead

Ideally Rubel for Mashrafe.
However since Mashrafe MP is immovable for various reasons I think it would be a wise choice to treat Miraz and Saifuddin as full all-rounders in the team and perhaps drop Mithun but that would mean Mushfiq gets the gloves again. Mosaddeks bowling is a bonus as well so it's a difficult decision to make

Mithun sits for Liton. Mushi gives up his gloves - Naah, that is just a wishful thinking on our part.

Mithun is a hack. Never a fan of him. He's somehow riding his luck. Drop him and bring Rubel. We don't need too many batsman. The batsman just need to stand up and deliver with runs.

This would make so much sense, but we are known for doing things that make no sense

Every coach has some strange favorites! Mithun is coach's favorite. I don't think that he will be dropped.

Mash is known to be back the wrong horses. He backed Fazle Rabbi ffs. Don't see Mithun getting the axe/Liton taking the gloves.

The issue with Mithun is, he doesn't score much but he scores just enough to stay in the team but not enough to win us anything.

To me, the question should be: "Mahmuddulah vs Mithun - who sits out England encounter?"

As Mashrafee is unable to bowl his own quota, Mossadek saved our a$$ with his bowling.

Mahmudullah is a senior player, but is he late order batsman? To me takes too much time and too many balls before he can roll, not an prototypical late order batsman. Mossadek also played slowly, but he is an young player, so there is hope for better future. But with Mahmudullah, he is what he is; no hope for better future.

No brainer - need mosaddek with the ball.

Mithun has to go.

Mithun definitely needs to go, but question is who comes in place?

Do we take the extra bowler Rubel, or a batsman/WK such as Liton?

Seeing as its England, another offie bowling with Mehedy might be useful hence the need for Mossadek

Replace Mithun with Liton. Have Liton keep. Solution for all our problems

if you ask me, you need both (Litton and Rubel), so we need to find another player , besides Mithun, to sit.

Mossadek cannot be that player. Then who can be the other player to drop?

- Riyad ?? ( cannot bowl due to injury) plus inconsistent with his approach as lower end batsman.
- Mashrafee take a rest? ( to recover from injury), or
- Tamim (take a break)? He may be also recovering from injury

A conundrum indeed

Our players are too emotional/stubborn to be sitting out due to an injury unless they are physically incapable of playing

Doesn't apply to Shakib which is why he is number 1

Simple. Drop Mithun bring in Rubel. If Rubel struggles, bring in Jayed.

Mosaddek should bat at 5.

Why do we always have to change the team? You guys want an extra bowler when our team nearly defended 244 against one of the strongest batting attack with 2 main bowlers not performing. The current team combination is fine the way it is. There are a couple of guys who could perform better then they are at the moment like Tamim, Mithun, Mash, Fizz but you cant just drop them after one game. And for the people asking for Riyad to be dropped, the guy was literally a key difference between a win and a loss 1 game ago. He had a bad game, but he still holds a key role for the back end of our innings. Just because Mosaddek had one good game, just because Saifuddin hit 1-2 boundaries doesnt mean they have suddenly become finishers.

For Mithun, while he hasnt performed upto his standards but you cant drop a guy who has scored into the 20s in both games. Not like he looked clueless in those games either.. Just played a few bad shots which I am sure the coaching staff is working on.
