Celebration Thread!
Yay we went for spineless tactics, created a pancake pitch, got ourselves into needless trouble and then battled hard to earn a draw. All of that against the mighty Sri Lankans! and especially against Herath uncleji. No easy feat folks. Lets hope Mosaddek can score a triple in the next highway in the 2nd test. Lets celebrate!!

Gaminida should try because, otherwise, we'll lose the match and series.
Can't win with an attack of Miraz-Taijul-Fizz.
Esp when the opponent is well adept at playing Miraz/Taijul level spin.
Call them mighty SriLankans sarcastically all you guys want, but without Shakib, they're better on paper.

I think the selection was decent apart from taking one less pacer. Don’t think we should have taken Sunzamul. We didn’t have Shakib and Mahmadullah was stand in Captain.
Usually we crumble in the second innings despite of the pitch conditions.
So I am quite happy with the overall result.
We are still on a learning curve in Tests and still players are looking how to play the 5 day game.

Batting is comparable, and they're clearly better in attack. How are they not better on paper with Shakib out?
Think Miraz, Taijul, Fizz, Sunzamul/facsimile can pick 20 wickets on a normal, sporting wicket?

Come on dude what celebrations lol
First innings we messed up. 2nd day lost too many wickets. Looking at how we batted 5th day, the 2nd day looks awful. Should’ve and could’ve made our first 700plus score if the likes of Mossa, Liton, Kayes at top and Miraz put some effort in!

Why would I have to think things that have already happened?
Colombo Test was as flat as this one (BD first innings score 467 vs 513 here) and Fizz and Miraz picked the most wickets there. Taijul chipped in as well. Shakib must have gotten a couple here and there. But Fizz actually bowled the match winning spell. Do you think its possible the sun may rise from the east tomorrow?
Fizz and Miraz both had a number of regulation catches put down off their bowling. Everyone has forgotten that. Riyad is correct in his assessment, this was not that flat a surface. Poor fielding by both teams (BD dropped at least 4 catches, SL leaked 7-10 boundaries that should have been singles) and good batting (BD mostly) is what yielded 1500 runs for 24 wickets that everyone is talking about. A good number of balls spun and bounced sharply and overall it somewhat sporting in the final 2 days.

Last 6 Tests in BD (vs SA, ENG, AUS) highest scores off the top of my head:
326 (BD)
247-7 (BD)
260 ish (ENG)
296 (BD)
250 ish (BD)
380 ish (AUS)
Those are some pretty sporting tracks. No totals of 400. So this Test is a healthy outlier so long Dhaka pitch is at least somewhat sporting.

2 decent bowlers and an alright one (Taijul) is a lot diff than 3 decent bowlers and an alright one. So, we're just randomly supposed to ignore Shakib's couple of wickets here and there and holding down one end?
Last graf reads like one of your assessments of Taskin.

No celebration yet.. and looks like this series wont see any celebrations. With the current bowling attack, we cant take 20 wickets unless its a complete minefield which would actually backfire even more.
