Countdown to 457!
Can we do it guys??
Can we chase it down and create history. Soumya seems to think its possible.
OR will we fold before Tea?

No, we can't do this, please don't take this a rude answer. I am watching cricket even before Soumya was born. If he thinks he can win this game then definitely he has lacking first class cricket knowledge. I don't say he shouldn't be positive, but he should understand that there are only two outcome in this game.
1. Sri Lanka will win the game.
2. If we play really good we could draw the match
My personal view is, if we draw the game that would be a great achievements for us
Thanks

Just play for the draw... 457 is too steep ...
Couple of bad shots or shot selection and the whole team would be feeling the pressure. Also not to forget, this is a 5th day pitch, it will misbehave.
Lets make it hard for them to get the 10 wickets instead of looking for glory.

Okay guys its not 457 anymore. The title is little misleading. We have already scored 67 without loss of any wickets.
Countdown to 390 it is!

(390/11) = 35.45 per batsman

Well no one really knows what's gonna happen tomorrow, but this is spirited come back from BD today, liked the way how instead of bogging down Soumya played his natural game, let me be a bit pragmatic here, the game is still heavily tilted towards SL, but who knows one epic innings backed by a couple of swashbuckling spectacles could change the course of the game, I'd say go for it.

Rain. Takes away some of time. Draw is possible. Win? No. Only takes a few bad brainfarts (which they are very much capable, knowing from recent history ), then collapse will start and from being say 150-0, they can quickly be 200-6, 280-10.
Seen it many times before, with these lot.

It will be interresting to see how we screw it up.
If pitch stays batsman friendly we should go for it.
390 is gettable, besides I think if we keep blocking Lankan bowlers will only look for wickets.
Srl scored 322 on day 1, they batted very slow till lunch.
But I know we will go for self destruction.

2nd this.
In 12 sessions, it was all SL 10 session and one session was draw, and only the last session went to BD. If we can draw this game, that would be a huge achievement. The only way we can survive another 90 overs not lose more than 2 wickets going in to the 3rd session (no matter what is on the scorecard.)

I hope we can get to something like 350-5 an hour after tea with Herath offering a draw to Mushy. This match should purely be about each of the batsman trying to beef up their averages.

90 overs, 540 deliveries.
Each batsman need to face 49 balls to achieve a draw. Does it look impossible?
someone needs to face at least 250 balls... if they can, it will...
Require others to face only 29 balls/deliveries each

It is not impossible, but the collapse worries me.
if we can avoid the collapse, we can easily draw this.

IF Mominul somehow can manage to face 200+ deliveries tomorrow, than we can make it happen.
ALSO if Mahmudullah steps up... and can fight for 100 deliveries.. it can happen..
We have big opportunity to draw... just need them to show responsibility...
I don't know what Shakib Bhia will do... play his own brand of cricket? or dig in for 150 deliveries?
