Shane Jurgensen
Does anyone know if Shane Jurgensen has done any interviews about his findings and work so far?

He gave one short interview. I remember reading that but it was in Bangla and I am not sure if it was in Prothom Alo or Kalerkontho. I will dig it up when I have time. Ian, if you want I can translate for you as well.

I remember in the the 1st or the 2nd test Anil Rabanaiyke saying that he talked to shane about our pacers and he said that that our pacers are very awesome and that he is working on getting them strong right now.

Same here. I thought we were operating without a pace bowling coach. The way Shafiul and the rest of the national pacers bowl, it doesnt feel like there is someone coaching them

Shafiul is a bad example of seeing improvement. Only Mash can bowl well on a regular basis and possibly Nazmul. Rubel has done pretty well but still has a ways to go. The others have a very long ways to go before they can become good bowlers.

Hey he said he LIKES to bowl stump to stump...not
He BOWLS stump to stump.
We all like a lot of things, doesn't mean we get to do them often, Shafiul is the same with his stump to stump bowling.

Rubel is a good bowler, but he has a lot to learn. BCB's number one choice is Shafiul. Imo it should be Nazmul. We should build the pace attack around him like Sri Lanka has built it around Kulasekera, and Pakistan around Gul. He may not have pace, but he is a sensible bowler. Knows his limitations, and bowls wicket to wicket. I am not saying he should be our strike bowler. For example: Malinga, Welagedera, Fernando, Prasad do more damage than Kulasekera. But Kulasekera plays every match-test, ODI, T20 and bowls his full quota very economically. Consistently picks wickets

Well Mash when healthy, deserves to be our #1 pacer but yes after that Nazmul should definitely be our 2nd bowler. Like you said, despite his lack of pace, he knows how to bowl in the right areas and has variations. I would have Rubel as our 3rd pacer since he's better with the old and can get the ball to reverse. Shafiul should be out of the team. The guy has ability no doubt but he has a lot to learn before he can become a good bowler at this level.

Mashrafe will always be our number 1 pace bowler. He is probably a one in a decade player. We havent been able to unearth anyone like him. I remember when he started he was our only bowler who could force opposition batsmen to play in back foot. He had the height, pace, bounce and accuracy. During the Zimbabwe series where he first made an impression he supposedly clocked 147 kph. Pity injury has taken a toll on him.
