Bangladeshi snacks
I am trying to make a "comprehensive" list of traditional deshi snacks. Maybe, makign and eating them will keep me busy until BD has a match. I want to start off with savory ones. Not sweet ones.
Here's what I have so far: Please help extend
- chotpoti
- fuchka
- chanachur/chanachur makha
- muri/makha
- chira
- jhaal muri
- alu puri
- dal puri
- shingara
- shomucha
- chaat
- piaju
- beguni
- papor
- chhola
- nimki/nimak para
- pakora
- pani puri
- toast biskut
- narkel and kashondi
- halim (added)
- bakaorkhani (added)
- chaap (added)
- Bombai Toast (added)

Too dry for me - goes great with suta kabab though. Old Dhaka has the best.

Khoi is not popcorn. The rest are either not traditional nor savory.

Ya. That. I was saying it in my head. I just didn't know how to spell it.
uh! Uh! I got another one. It's not necessarily a "snack." But Idk where else you would put it. I had it long time ago.
It's NOT narrikel. It's not the regular white stuff that you crack open and cut out and yet. Wait.. not it doesn't even come from narrikel. Ah fuzz this. I hate these type of threads. Screws with my brain and memory.

Taal? Is that a thing? There is a little thing inside that... No that's not it either..
Mango in fruit roll-up style. Not dried mango. That's different. The other kind? Is that a snack?

Oronnya - you are right. I meant bhel puri. Maggi noodles - how could I forgot. My mom not only used to make that for afternoon snacks - but also lunch for school. She would also add some alur chop or tikiya kabab.

I am only interested in savory snacks, not sweet.
But thanks you anyway. If anyone is interested in making a sweet snack thread - hint, hint.

Also roadside chanachur beside schools are way different than regular chanachur.
Tomato and them watery things makes it taste so different.

I remember first jokhon Mr. Cookie ber hoilo. Phenomenon!! Before that I use to Love Nabisco's biscuit. Reddish-Pink packet 12 or 10 in one. Half of each had one design and the other half had different designs.
Same thing with Polar Icecream. But That was more for the boxes rather than the content. Nevertheless, similar impact.
