Default A team invited to Pakistan

Pakistan has invited the Bangladesh A team to their domestic Pertons Cup.

Afganistan will also participate in the tournament.

What type of tournament is that? First Class? I hope it is a 4 day competition. Then it would be awesome.

Patron's trophy: more than a month long ODI tournament in Pakistan.

Earlier this year, 14 regional cricket associations and 11 other clubs ( Habib bank, PIA, etc.) participitated. There were 4 pools, each containing 6 teams( there must have been a guest team somewhere). Round Robin League in each pool. Each pool's top two qualify for the quarterfinals.

Not sure if this got cancelled or not, however, the BD A team is invited to play in Quaed-E-Azam trophy in November and December, which they will participate.

Also, BD received invitation to play in the Dileep Trophy in India. However, Bd wants to send the A team while BCCI wants the National team. So, we might not play.

Lahoria:

Is the QAE Trophy the first class tourney where the departmental teams play (Habib Bank, KRL, PIA) or the one where regional teams play?

Thanks for the info. I had a question and had it answered within the hour! The stregnth of this board is in it's diversity. Don't you Pakistanis stop posting here. We appreciate your input, knowledge and point of view. The present 'tiff' on another thread will blow over sooner or later. The enemies of WW-II are best of friends now. Anything can happen.

Bangladesh A team should NOT play this low profile tournaments. They should join only if A Teams from other test nations will be playing there. We are a test nation and we will play and act accordingly.
