It was the mid or last '80s. I was there at Dhanmondi Cricket Ground (Abahani Club Ground) to witness the cricket match, I was student of School, and it was the winter morning, we friends came out there after the Thursday Half School and saw the Rupali Bank and another team was fighting hard to get rid on the match, that was the first time I saw Aminul Islam and Farooq Ahmed (Presesent Chief Selector of Board) were the 2 all time great heors are batting for Rupali Bank.
I saw Aminul Was batting and crossed 50, and 60, and his father was sitting on a chair just besides the boundary rope, and clapping for his son. And, I was listening the other senior players were saying, last night Aminul Islam told his father that he will cross 65 runs with batting and he kept his word while he made such good promise, as soon as he crossed it his father left the ground......
I do not know if Aminul Islam or any body remembers this, but it was a very sweet memory as I always love this gentleman, and real fan of him.......
Farooq Ahmed is rewarded by Board for his contribution, but I feel Aminul Islam is another solid hand if BCB request him to join the board........ I guess as he promised after the coaching course finished he has an intention to come back Bangladesh to coach our boys, BCB should consider him at least to work side by side of Farooq Ahmed, as we seen the '80s Danger Rupali Bank with Captain, farooq and Vice Captain Aminul Islam.......
Wish him good luck.......Our all time favourite, BULBUL......
