Default Match Thread: England v Ireland 27th Aug 2009

Anyone following this? I just checked the scoreboard.. Eng 42/2 Bopara 0, Trott 0.

England were 2-1 and 6-2 - this is ridiculous. Ireland will gain massive number of points if they beat England today. The difference between them and us will then be very small. Hope it doesn't come to that.

59/2 - RR increased from 2.5 to 3. in 19 Overs! Eng won't make anywhere near 200 giving the Irish a great chance of an upset.

I do not want Ireland to beat England before we do. That will be another slap on the face by Ireland to us. Not to mention what the win will do to the point differences between us and them. If I am correct IRE will have 42 and we are 53! Another upset by Ireland and we go behind them in points!

44.6

Johnston to Wright, OUT, and he's got him! Goes for a big hit once more and its a fantastic catch by Mooney diving forward after making a lot of ground from long off

LJ Wright c Mooney b Johnston 36 (26b 3x4 2x6) SR: 138.46

This is a sh**ty England side. The Irish should teach them a lesson. I am sure Peiterson and possibly Flintoff will be back to play against us.

Is this supposed to be a practice tour for England before playing Aussies?

204 to beat - perfect set up for an Irish win but lets see what Swan and Side bottom can do.

Unlucky Ireland. The rain will spoil the party for them.

Unless it is truncated to a 20 over match. chasing 100 runs in 20 overs should be piece of a cake.
