Even though Ash was the undeiable MOM, to me, Aftab's chokka was the shot of the match.

I understand the importance of Aftab's SIX but sweeping fast bowlers simply extraordinary.

Where have these guys gone? Aftab, Ashraful, Alok- if they only could translate their promise to performance by now!
"On the richter scale, its off the scale" Says David Lloyd, the best commentator ever. It was off the scale for sure!

At that time of the match Ashraful's ave was around 16.00 playing around 50 ODIs. After playing around 150 Odis his average improved to around 24.00 till 2010. He must have scored at an average of 27-28 between this time. Not bad in Bangladeshi standards as only 2/3 of our batsmen score more than 28 ave in current squad.
Since we love and hate him so much he always becomes scapegoat of failure and superstar of success before Shakib and Tamim era.
Personally i think during the darkest period of our cricket (probably 2003-2007) where there was some serious talk to take away our test status, Ashraful's rare knocks provided some answers to our critics that we are here to stay in long run.

Well, I saw that match in person, BD had no hope of winning after their disastrous tour of England, they were not given an iota of a chance, but somehow, luck came their way, and they beat the best team in the world. If Ash and Bashar had not had that amazing partnership to set up the win, Aftab's six may have been in vain.
It will have to be a lucky day for them to beat Australia again .

Ricky Ponting just stepped down.
Poor clarke, has to start with a series loss against Bangladesh.

think the media got to his head to the point he lost focus and didn't concentrate on cricket enough-he should stay away from making any more ads. His 94 against england IMO is still the best attacking innings by a bangladeshi

Best attacking innings? I will concede that. My all time best Bangladesh innings? Ones that I have seen - the 158* vs India at the Chittagong Test. It was almost orgasmic. Where did that Ashraful go?

That was one of the best knocks by a Bangladeshi. It was just one of those days when you can't do anything wrong. The shots Ashraful played that day, and with the ease he played were unreal. Seriously, where did that Ashraful go?
Btw, do you remember he scored a 3 on the same day in the second innings :P I remember team management tried to protect him for the next day, but Rafique/Aftab couldn't protect him.

that was something exceptional.. I still get amazed by remebering how he hit back to back six harbhajan through cover with just touch of the bat...

i don't think so it will be 3-0 series with BD batting standards and Australia bowling & fielding standard standards None of us is capable to consolidate innings or play long innings it will be a tough one
i expect 2-1 thats my realistic expectation
