Default Bowling Coach Candidates

klusener is not coming, caddick and prasad have taken up other commitments, colin croft's application has been rejected by BCB. seems like they are running out of ideas.

can BCites think of a good candidate ? it doesn't have to be a famous player from yesteryears, it could be a county bowling coach who is doing well or one from the australian domestics.
but please no fantasy candidates like akram, we all know that's very unlikely.

let me give this a shot.

fannie devilliers
chaminda vaas (since he has no realistic chance of making it to SL national side)

I think I opened it in the correct section ! mod bhai ra pagol hoia gese !

apologies to the almighty mods if I'm wrong.

edit: praised be the mod who moved it again to its rightful place.

nadim bhai, I think pigeon is too busy with his anti-cancer drive to take up a long term commitment. he is probably looking at a high return but low time investment option like IPL. how about gillespie or mcdermott though ? do they have any coaching exp ?

#1 Shaun Pollock
#2 Dougie Brown
#3 Aqib Javed
#4 Chaminda Vaas

I would love to see Wasim Akram to be our bowling coach but I doubt that will be possible.

How about Alan Donald & Jason Gillespie? Alan donald specially seems like a realistic choice to me.

Plus kumble/Murali as bowling advisor for the W'cup.

J. Gillespie is coaching a Zimbabwe FC side. (joined recently) and don't know about Mcdermott.

LOL I did read that. That's exactly why I think he might be interested in coaching BD. If I ain't wrong he must not have signed some long term strict contract, he may prolly be able to skip that if offered something better.

Coaching a test nation is a big deal. Most of the new coach like to start somewhere small. Look at gillespie and donald I believe this is their first assingment they are starting small and probably looking to go big as they go down the line. We cant just get someone just because he was a great player. I see people have Vaas on their list. Doea anyone know if he has a coachimg certificate yet?

BCB is wasting time. While selecting a foreign one, just appoint M. Rafiq as an acting bowling coach, and a homegrown retired pacer as an acting assistant bowling coach.

Collin Croft would have been able to teach a thing or two. Can't believe he was rejected. Alan Donald is looking for a full time coaching role

I think BCB appointed Salauddin as a Spin bowling coach. So no need to get Rafiq atm. Fountain is teaching a thing or two to the pacers but dont really know how effective that will be..

We do not have a home grown retired pace. It would be like hiring a 7th grader to try teach a high-schooler. As it is, we have a preponderance of SLA's - we really need to hone our skills in the other forms of art with that piece of leather. Rafique could however teach the players some gumption.

1. Phil Tufnell (England) ==> Slow left-arm orthodox
One of the best English spinners during 90s ! Currently he has been busy with TV/Radio Commentating.

2.Graham Ford (S.A) ==> Right Armed off spinner

In 1992 he became coach of Natal where he enjoyed the services of Malcolm Marshall, Clive Rice, Shaun Pollock, Jonty Rhodes and Lance Klusener. He led the province to victory in both the first class and one day trophies in 1996-97.

On 9 June 2007 he was offered the position of coach of the Indian cricket team, but two days later he declined the offer, citing "it was the right decision for me and my family.
