Big change in WC Selection Process
https://www.bd-pratidin.com/sports/2019/07/10/438658
Feels like ever increasing complexity, or is it ICC just looking forward to make as much money possible from all these matches.

Oh, this is old news. We covered it on our podcast. I think everyone was in favor of it, can't remember. I certainly am. All the random and often repetitive series (for us, often Zim or Nz) never seemed right to me. When you only have 12 members in the elite level of a sport, you should organize it in such a way so they all play each other in a systematic approach.
So this is good. Only thing I don't like is why only play 8 of the 12 nations? And how was it determined which 8 nations one would play? I am assuming a lottery.

It’s only 8 for the first cycle. Afterwards it’s 12 but the reason it’s 8 now is because BCCI isn’t allowed to play PAK as a matter of gov policy.

So according to Wiki BD not playing, Aus, Ind, Holland and Pak. That is a strong and good filter for us.
