Ashraful to captain A team
http://www.samakal.com.bd/details.php?news=18&action=main&menu_type=&option=single&news_id=142505&pub_no=640&type=
I honestly hope this is true....
Ash captain of A team and not included in Aussie series. There is also a possibility that some other players from the national XI might also leave.
But the biggest positive is they are considering Whatmore and Ganguly as potential coaches. It also says Ian might return...

I don't mind him occupying a spot from a potential player in the A team. Wish him the best. May he return as a 30+ average guy.

As I said in another thread, I am sick of this moron, don't want him anywhere near the national team, not even in the A-team (let alone leading it). We got plenty of youngsters coming up, give one of them a chance in place of this idiot.

What will we get from Ash captaining the A team? Unless we plan to make him captain of the national team one day again, this is wasting the opportunities for grooming a future captain.

Totally agree. We should try someone with leading capabilities who is like to make it to the national side in next 2/3 years.

Ashraful is a moron ?? is a idiot ?? don't want him anywhere near the national team ??
I am not a stat guru, but I do know for sure, many of our matches were win only by Ashraful. He was our cricket icon for ICC. Many great players said Ashraful is the most talented player of BD in his time. Now u r saying all this to this guy ? I think in near future guys like u will also forgot what Shakib and Tamim doing for our Cricket. Ashraful, Aftab, Sumon, Rasel, Rafique, all should be remembered with due respect. Thanks to god, that he is not still our captain and only plays two matches in WC, otherwise everybody will blame him for all that happened. What Shakib bring as a best player and our captain in this WC ? He is the best allrounder in ranking, then what is Kallis, Watson, Yuvraj. you guys think before u talk.

One way or the other, Ash is always on the mix.
Ash having the captaincy goes to show how weak our pipeline is.
The only reason I see Ash being the captain is because SA tour would be a tough one and the boys need someone "experienced" like Ash to take the lead role.
Ash is like a cushion mechanism.
If he is a hit, we feast on the Eid.
If he fails, we dont wonder why.
That way, he is protecting the other uprising players by taking all the blame to himself, should the tour goes bad and SA tours are usually the toughest for us.
I wish him all the best of luck.
Hope he flourishes on his duties and gets his "form" back.
A good tour to SA and if he can get amongst runs, that would be great for our team.
The "Others" in this world cup havent really done much to kick him out of the team.
Still the fact remains, NO ONE has won games for Bangladesh with the bat the way Ash did.
Atleast he doesnt talk big.

^^ Don't wanna start one over here, but everybody in the Bangladesh team gets second, third, fourth and so on chances. Even those who kicked the national team, talked big on the media, crossed the border and then came back, got chances.
They havent got their 100 "chances" cuz they werent around as long as Ash is.
More importantly, all those who replacing him are also failing miserably.

Ash is bad influence. He should be forced to retire from any kind of cricket.

I still can imagine his dance mix when getting that wicket and making all the team memebers dance with him...comn be professional i understand he was down but it really looked odd. I did not see other professional players with his experience doing like that when coming back from forms...

this moronic selection and management will not allow any growth of BD cricket, no matter how many Whatmore, Siddons come and go.

I don't think there is any chance for a reappointment of Whatmore because he is the coach of KKR in the IPL and the director of the Cricket Association of Bengal. It would be highly unlikely for anybody to give up such high profiled posts.
Also if you remember Whatmore always wanted and was more interested in being involved with Indian Cricket. Remember the 2007 India tour of Bangladesh right after the WC?

Motin is NEVER out of form, just horribly unlucky 95% of the time. Then there's the inexplicable idiodemonic possession he and the rest of humanity is utterly helpless against, and all that unfair nepotism! GOD help the A Team and the rest of us as long as he's in the middle scoring double figures.
