Director's meeting at Sylhet today
Sports Reporter
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president AHM Mustafa Kamal's first meeting outside the capital will bring up some burning issues for discussion.

The directors' meeting of the BCB will be held today in Sylhet. The executive committee meeting will be arranged outside Dhaka with a view to decentralise cricket in the country. But for decentralisation the most important move is to form the regional cricket associations and that issue is chief among the agenda.

Among seventeen agendas, the constitutional amendment issue however is going to hog the spotlight.

The much talked about proposals of the constitutional amendment resurfaced after the game's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), sought democratization of the boards in its recent meeting in Hong Kong.

ICC has asked for elected president of the respective boards to make sure that there would be no political interference in the running of the board activities. In line with the ICC guideline, the BCB is going to amend the constitution as currently the BCB president is elected by the government.

There was some ruckus with the proposals of some amendments made by the Dewan Shafiul Arefin-led constitution committee, which however failed to put its proposal in the board meeting last time.
