Roey, is is true that the songs you speak of that praise the feats of the Mukti Bahini etc. are all blood curdling and make one's hair stand on end but I'd query whether that's appropriate for a 'national anthem'. They're more war anthems than national anthems. I think a national anthem needs to reflect the spirit of the people or capture a consistent narrative through their history. Through all our history, with its constant fluctuations and upheavals, one thing that has remained consistent is our love for the motherland. It is, after all, what our freedom fighters gave their lives for.
