Archive section is just for what the name suggest, for the purpose of archival. Match threads catch the action-reaction and the emotional roller coasters in real time. We just wanted to preserve it and hence the locked nature of the forum.
There are two potential problems with the suggestion.
Many visitors, not necessarily all members, follow the match thread and the most obvious place to look for the current one is the Bangladesh Cricket forum, not the Archive forum.
Changing the status between locked and unlocked is not quite convenient and subject to unnecessary errors.
