I think this is only fair. If we cannot beat a bunch of associates, we should not be playing in WC. There was a stage when we needed the peace of mind so players can concentrate on their game and not worry about whether they can play or not. But after so many years with the big boys, we really should be good enough that we don't care about the associates anymore. If we can't, that is our problem, not theirs.

Now, I don't support a 10 team world cup and I think the associates should be playing, but if we must have 10 team world cup, there has to be a qualifying round for the last 2/3 positions.
