Default Road to Kuala Lumpur 2008!!

This thread would track all the U-19 teams, their players ("superstars") and their results who will be competing to win it all. I have gone back some years just for fun.

September 2006
India U-19 vs Pakistan U-19
Test (2-0) and ODI Series whitewashed by India.
Test I - win by 271 runs
Test II - win by innings and 240 runs.
4 Onedays: 4-0 India.

April 2007
Australia U-19 hosting Pakistan U-19
Australia winning the 5 Oneday series by 3-2.

July 2007
European Championship 2007
Ireland wins a berth to the WC 2008 by beating Scotland, Holland and Denmark.

July 2007
Sri Lanka U-19 hosting Bangladesh U-19
Test I - Drawn
Test II - SL wins by six wickets.
SL winnings test series 1-0.

July 2007
U-19 Tri-series SL (host), BD and India
India beat SL, BD twice and wins the finals against BD convincingly. (A heavy beat down by India: margin of victory 159 runs, 97 runs, 161 runs, 129 runs D\L method, 129 runs) Aauuch!! It hurts!!
Between BD and SL, 1st match had no result the second one Bd beat SL by 43 runs.

August 2007
SL hosting India (India U-19 wins 1-0 in the 2 test series)
Test I - India wins 182 runs. Ind 301, 223/7 dec. SL 247, 95.
Test II - Drawn. India 491/3 dec and 245/6. SL 387.

East Asia Pacific U-19 Championship 2007
Papua New Guinea wins it beating Vanautu, Japan and Fiji.

August 2007
Pakistan U-19 at England (test series drawn 1-1)
Test I - England wins by an innings and 58 runs. Eng U-19 532, Pak U-19 214, 260 f/o.
Test II - Pakistan U-19 wins by 3 wickets. Eng U-19 332 and 228, Pak U-19 219 and 342/7.
Pakistan U-19 beat England U-19 in a 5 Oneday series with the margin of 3-1.

August 2007
African U-19 Championship 2007
Kenya winning the championship by beating Namibia, Zambia and Ghana. I am not sure what happened here but Namibia is representating Africa (not test nations in the U-19 WC).

ICC Americas U-19 tournament 2007
Bermuda becomes the chosen one. They beat Canada, Cayman, Argentina and Bahamas.

September 2007
Australia U-19 at Malaysia
Winning 2-0 big ones. 183 runs and 10 wkts.

October 2007
Aus U-19 at Pakistan
Pakistan U-19 whitewashes Australia U-19. None of them were close.
7 wkts, 9 wkts, 30 runs, 5 wkts, 9 wkts.

November 2007
BD U-19 won a series against Malaysia U-19 3-1.

BD U-19 at Pakistan
Test - Drawn
Onedays BD U-19 won 3-2. Winnings after falling behind 0-2.

Tri-series at South Africa Dec 2007 (SA U-19, Bd U-19 and India U-19)
India wins the tourney without losing. Won one match against BD by 1 run D\L method. Grrrrr!!!
Bd loses miserably in the finals.

Test I - India won.
Test II - Draw.

Tri-series Jaunary 2008
SL U-19 (host), England U-19, Pakistan U-19
In the warmup match Eng U-19 beat SL U-19. In the tournament they also beat Pak U-19. However, SL U-19 beat England 2 times and lost to Pak U-19 2 times, Pak U-19 crushed Eng U-19 in the other match group match. In the final Pak U-19 out gunned SL U-19 from the start. No contest. Pak U-19 wins the tournament.

Pre WC warmup matches January 2008
Nepal U-19 visited BD and played 3 matches in BKSP grounds. BD U-19 won 3-0.
WI U-19 visited BD. Match 1 wash out. Match 2 WI won. Match 3 and 4 Bd won. Series win for BD U-19 2-1.

Warmup matches at malaysia:
Day-1
BD U-19 beat Malaysia U-19 by 165 runs.
Ind U-19 beat NZ U-19 by 6 runs.
Eng U-19 beat Pak U-19 by 4 wickets.
Ireland beat Papua New Guinea.

Day 2:
Australia crushed Zimbabwe. Not much practice for Australia.
Zim 57 all out 28.3 overs. (15 extra highest contributor) Smith 8-1-21-5 Bad man. Got the entire middle order by himself.
Aus 60/0 - Huges 40*(31), Sarna 12*(17) 7.2 overs.
Nepal flexed their muscle against Bermuda.
256/8 in 50 overs. Khadka 63 (82)
Bermuda 68 all out 24.1 overs. (17 extra is the highest contributor) All five bowlers got wickets.
Namibia had a mismatch against SA.
Namibia 106 all out 30.2 overs Silver 28 (59), Englebrecht 26 (35), Extra 22.
SA 107/3 in 18 overs. Openers went back retired with 34 and 50 and let others practice a little.
WI beat SL by 4 wickets.
SL 174 allout 47.5 overs. WI 177/6 in 40.4 overs.

Day 3:
Bangladesh U19 Vs Pakistan U19
Bangladesh U19 203 Over - 48.5 (Md. Mithun 75, Mahmudul Hasan 27, Ashiqul 23; Raza 3/27, Amir 2/33)
Pakistan U19 204/5 Over - 43.2 (Shahzad 79, Akmat 63; Sohrawardi 2/37)
2nd warm-up match of ICC U19 CWC 2008 (13 Feb. 08); Toss - Pak U19; Result - Pak U19 won by 5 wickets
England tastes the real curry. Ind wins by 6 wickets.
England 219/8 Godleman 31, Redfern 74, Brown 40. India 225/4. was 7 for 3 at one stage. so basically 218/1 Tiwary 98*, Pandey 42*, Sivastava 57. Finn got 3 wickets. Finn is 6' 8" tall.
NZ hammered Ireland.
314/8 in 50 overs. Worker 98, Southee 47. Ireland 133 allout, Beard 36/6.
Malaysia wins against PPN.
201. Faisal 63. PPN 144.

Day 4:
WI beat Aus by 5 wkts.
Aus 159/10 in 48.2 overs Sarna 32. Brooks 25/5 in 9.1 overs. Permaul 18/2 in 7 overs.
WI 160/5 in 35.4 overs Powell 51, Creary 45*. JS Smith 30/2 in 6 overs.
SL beat SA by 23 runs.
SL 224/10 in 48.5 overs. Chandimal 50, Thirimanne 47, 5 runouts?? Adams 27/2, Engelbrecht 43/2.
SA 201/10. Four batsmen between 39 and 33 non could capitalize the starts. Bowling for SL was a team effort.
Zim beat Nepal by 3 wkts.
Nepal 203/8 in 50 overs. Malla 85(83), (C) P Khadka 24, (C) Masvaure 32/3
Zim 206/7 in 48.3 overs. Chimbambo 49*, (C) Masvaure 33. (C) P Khadka 34/4 in 9.3 overs.
Namibia 224/10 in 47.3 overs. Silver 47, Van der westhuizen 44, Jones 31/4.
Bermuda 122/10 in 37.4 overs. Jones 30. one runout and 6 players got a wicket at least.
If one can posts the squads announced for each teams and point the stars of those teams I would really appreciate that. Thanks in advance.
