You dont need to have the wizardry of Muttiah Muralitharan to be a good off spinner. A simple example is Graemme Swann. Started out as a very average all rounder and developed into a world class spinner. It was all about strong basics and intelligence. Gazi lags behind in both categories. Always bowling into the pads, plenty of long hops, predictable bowling.
I agree. Forget about Murali and Swann, even in the recent SL series I think Senanyeke and Dilruwan Perera bowled much better than Gazi.
